2006 Toyota Tundra SR5 - Double Cab - $5400

Forthright up front - this rig has a blown headgasket - engine turns over great but does not run. The backstory is that I was pulling my RV and I blew a radiator and while pulling over to the side of the road I must have blown the headgasket. I replaced the radiator and its brand new, but then found out about the headgasket.

This is a great truck - was a daily reliable driver - love this size as the Double Cab in this size was only built for 2 years. I bought it in 2017 from a Toyota Dealer with 153K miles, drove it for 7 years and added another ~100K (250K on it now). These 1st gen Tundras have a bit of a cult following (there was an Outside Mag article about them), and the double cab is even more rare. This one has NO underside rust - which was a problem on some. I probably put in $3-4K in the last 18 months with new brakes, front end work..all of which you'd benefit from.

Instead of putting a ton of money into the headgasket, I think its better to buy a good used engine with lower miles from B&R or someplace for 1-3K and you can drop it in. I don't have the time - but someone that has the time/money/or mechanical ability could do so.

Good:
Clean Title
Second Owner
NO RUST on the frame
New radiator
Newer brakes (1 yr ago)
New Front end (rack/pinion/bushings) (1 yr ago did it with the breaks)
Sprayed bed frame
new Alternator
Put in a level kit from Les Schwab that gave it some lift (maybe 1.5 inches)
Newer wheels and tires BF Goodrich KO2s (1year)
spark plugs (but part of the engine)
Thule adjustable rack comes with the rig (super handy)

Issues:
a few dings and scratches. Nothing that can't be popped or fixed. the passenger rear fender cover has a scratch due a hit/run at the airport). You could replace that with an aftermarket fender cover. Its a 18 yr old rig
the tailgate lever is missing but I have the part - just need to replace it. The tailgate comes down but you have do a bit of hand work to get it down. The airflow director knob on the inside console is a bit wonky, but works.
