Gateway Classic Cars of San Antonio/Austin is proud to present this real deal 1970 Pontiac GTO Convertible. The GTO was produced from 1964-1974 and again from 2004-2006. Some have considered the Pontiac GTO the poster child for popularizing the muscle car phenomenon in the mid-sixties. This 1970 is a second- generation model produced from 1968-1972 and is a true 242 VIN GTO. Manufactured on the Tempest line, the 1970 GTO retained its urethane nose but received suspension upgrades including a rear anti-roll bar which resulted in improved body lean and understeer. Variable-ratio power steering was also made available in 1970. Under the classic Ram-Air hood sits a Vortec 5.3Liter V/8 with upgrades such as mid-length Hedman Headers, aftermarket air intake and a Derale aluminum radiator with two electric fans. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. The front bucket and rear bench are upholstered in black vinyl and are complimented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Additional equipment includes a center console with a gear selector and woodgrain trim along with floormats, lap belts for four occupants and a retro style Bluetooth/AM/FM radio with Kenwood speakers. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a set of aftermarket gauges that consists of a 160-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and a combination gauge with oil pressure, battery voltage, fuel level and coolant temperature. The digital odometer shows just under 1500 miles although total mileage is unknown. This 1970 Pontiac GTO convertible defines the muscle car era. This "Judge" tribute has sporty good looks and enough horsepower under the hood to make your heartbeat just a little bit faster!.
