Private seller offers a stunning 1987 Mercedes-Benz 300SDL Turbo Diesel sedan. Finished in classic solid black paint over a palomino leather interior. This is a rare and desirable 2 year only variant of the W126 S-Class only found in the United States market in the 1986 and 1987 model years. The 300SDL features Mercedes' first all aluminum turbo diesel inline 6 cylinder motor. The OM603 engine has a legendary reputation and has been known to cover upwards of half a million miles, making it one of the brands best. This particular vehicle originally hailed from North Carolina and has spent its life in the garage being pampered. It has been lovingly driven and maintained as a Mercedes-Benz should be. The jet black high gloss paint shines brilliantly. The chrome and brightwork are consistent and clean. The palomino leather interior is in far superior shape to most other W126 series S-Class vehicles. The zebrano woodgrain overall is vibrant and free of cracking in most places. The engine fires to life instantly and idles smooth. The transmission shifts effortlessly and the brakes feel strong and confident. This SDL still has plenty of service to provide. While it is beautiful for its age, it is not perfect and does have some age oriented blemishes that can't be avoided. I would be happy to answer any and all questions you may have about this unique and rare gem! You won't find a cleaner or more attractive color combination on one of these that is for sure!
