Here is a very nice 1936 Ford coupe. I had a 2012 Dodge pickup I was selling and this guy gets ahold of me and says "hey want to work a trade on my 1936 Ford ?".  Thats how I got it.  Very nice looking car.  I've driven it a few times, gets lots of thumbs up as you drive around. Very fun car to drive.

I got the car just as you see it, I haven't done a thing. This is a older restoration that still looks very nice but has flaws here and there from use and/or people walking around it in the garage.  I'll do a walk around the car and tell you what I see.

Bumpers :  The chrome shines, they appear to be straight.  There are places where the chrome has started to flake.  If your after a driver, I'd leave them.  If you want a show car rechrome them.

Grill and horn grills.  The chrome is driver quality. There is corrosion in the hard to access spots.  It may clean off with a SOS pad.

Tires/Wheels.  The wheels are 1935 ford, they look great on the car, unfortunately with this design you get a chip in the paint on the wheels everytime you pop the hubcaps off. Want to pack the hubs, you just got wheel chips, rotate tires, more wheel chips.  So the paint on the wheels is presentable, but has chips. The tires are bias ply wide white walls. They have lots of tread but have cracks. If you live in a small town and the most you will do is drive to your local cruise night, I'd leave them, but if you live in Chicago and plan on driving this on the highway buy new tires. The spare has lots of tread but does not hold air.  The hubcaps/trim rings are old and show wear.

Running boards.  The running board covers are in good shape. They are not new, but I don't know if they are originals either.  I won't say they are perfect, but in my opinion they are too nice to change.

Trunk, right now the trunk is just bare metal. No carpet, no panels, just bare.  I have carpet, and have panels, I'm working on intalling them.  I'll post pictures once its done.  The prop assembly to hold the trunk lid open may be homemade ? I would replace it. Its just bolted on, a Ford setup couldn't be that expensive. I'm not a expert on 36 Fords, but I believe this originally was a rumble seat car.  So if you'd rather it had a rumble seat it should be fairly easy to switch back.

Interior,  The interior is essentially stock.  Stock seat, stock door panels, stock dash, etc.  This does have carpet, I'm assuming it probably had a rubber matt new, but the carpet matches the rest of the upholstery and it looks nice. The windows roll up and down nice, doors close nice.  The rear window on the passenger side has delaminated quite bad, I'd replace it.  The kick panels by your feet are made of a cardboard type material, this material is no longer flat.  If you desire perfectly flat kick panels just buy new ones, they are not expensive.  The speedometer works, amp guage appears to work, temp guage appears to work and the gas guage appears to work. The oil pressure guage does not work.  The speedometer does work, but for whatever reason the trip meter isn't recording mileage, I'm unsure how to fix that.  I do not know if the wipers work, assume they may not.  There are two holes in the dash which had button/knob in them, but are empty now.  One is right under the gas guage, the other is right beside the ash tray on the passenger side. Mice are a old cars worst nightmare, everybody puts dryer sheets, moth balls, cab fresh or something in their cars to keep away mice.  This car had one of those in it, I did remove what was in it, but a remnant of the smell is still there.  Basically after you get it, but a deodorant card, your favorite dryer sheets, or whatever you use for mice in it, and the car will smell like whatever you put in it. The headliner has mouse holes.  You will want to install a new headliner.

Engine, the engine is a flathead, I believe it is a correct 1936 motor, but I'm not sure how to tell. The engine is nice and clean. The paint on the engine isn't brand new, but the engine compartment looks nice.  It fires right up, purrs like a kitten.  All old cars seep a little bit, so I'm assuming this one does too, but there weren't any puddles under it in the garage. The transmission is a 3 speed, I'm not sure if its a 1936 transmission or not.  Alot of guys use 1939 transmissions instead for upgraded synchronizers, this may be one of those.  I believe the rearend is stock.

Horn.  the horn works but its very quiet. Probably something simple like corrosion on a connection.

Lights.  The headlights work (there is no highbeam), the pass tailight does not work (probably a bulb), drivers tail light does work. I haven't driven it at night, I don't know if the dash lights work.  This didn't have turn signals when it was new, it doesn't have turn signals now, but there are kits to ad them if you want turn signals.  I don't know if the brake lights work (its hard to tell when your sitting in the car).
Steering, is stock.  It has some play, but all old cars do.

Brakes, are hydrualic brakes.   The brakes work but the hubs need to be pulled off and and the brakes looked at.  Last time I drove it they seemed sticky.  As in they didn't release. Most likely where they brake shoes pivot there is some corrosion that needs to be cleaned off.

Windshield frame.  The windshield frame on the bottom corners on both sides has some rust.  Driver quality as is, or rechrome if want it nicer.

Top insert. The top insert looks nice.  It looks so nice I would say its new, but maybe the car was kept inside its entire life.

Paint and body.  I would say when this was originally built it was a show stopper. Granted I'm not a expert but you can look down the sides, its not wavy, its smooth as glass. Whoever did the body did a amazing job.  I didn't take a magnet to it, but I was told all the fenders are metal and the running boards originals. Speculation on my part but I would say that whomever restored/built the car was a meticulous person, then as they got older they weren't able to do as much with the car as they used to.  Hence the kids, grandkids, got drafted to help. If a motorcycle, car, bicycle, etc is special to someone you take great care of it.  Just because something is special to you, doesn't mean its special to your kids, grandkids, neighbors, etc. So I would say when the kids, grandkids, neighbors, got drafted to change spark plugs, change oil, and things like that they weren't quite as careful as they should have been. If you know what your doing and you care about the car, you can open and close a 36 ford hood millions of times and not leave a mark. If you don't really care or don't know anybetter it only takes once.  I think you know where I'm going, the hood and the front fenders do have marks from a careless person opening/closing the hood, bending over the fenders to change spark plugs, etc.  I haven't tried to wax them out,  I think alot of them would wax out, but until you try you won't know for sure.  The same goes for the trunk area.  The trunk on the lower drivers side has a crack, I don't know if its a paint crack or bondo crack. There are also some marks/cracks in the rear around the general area of the spare tire/where the bumper brackets are at. The flaws in the rear of the car blend in, they aren't noticeable unless you are looking for them. I haven't noticed any rock chips, door dings, or any of that, I will say there are some, but I don't believe there are.

Overall this is a very nice car.  Look at the pictures, look at the videos. It wouldn't take much for it to be a show stopper again.  You could never restore a 36 5 window coupe for my buy it now price.  This is a great deal.

I have been completely honest and upfront about everything I know about the car, but this car is almost 90 years old. Classis cars need upkeep. How many 90 year old people haven't had a hip replacement, surgery for this, or that. Probably none. Well a car is the same, as you own it, you will have to do upkeep. Radiators need to be flushed, engines develop leaks, brake hoses get cracks, etc. So please assume that this will/may need upkeep.

I will take cash when you pick it up or a bank wire transfer. I will expect to be paid in full within 48 hours after the auction ends.

I deal with trucking companies on a regular basis for work. If you need help with transportation let me know and I can get quotes for you.
