This 1959 Cadillac Sedan DeVille is entirely original, featuring factory jet black paint, interior, engine, and transmission. The odometer shows just over 78,000 original miles. As a classic 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan DeVille, it boasts the iconic 4-window (Flat Top) design, reflecting the 1950s glitz with low-slung bodies and soaring tailfins tipped with dual "bullet" taillights. It remains a striking and rare vehicle, untouched by restoration.
This Cadillac originated from Detroit and was driven directly to California upon sale. It has a solid body and floors with no rust. The chrome and stainless are in very good condition, though there is a superficial ding in the right fender and minor scratches on the top and hood. The body is straight and solid, and all glass is intact and in good condition.
The spacious trunk retains its original lining and materials, including the spare tire, jack assembly, and maintenance manual. An auxiliary electric fan has been installed for parade use to prevent overheating. The engine bay is original and clean. The interior is also entirely original, with some stains on the headliner, but the cloth seats remain free of rips or tears. The carpet needs replacing, but overall, the interior is in excellent condition for a vehicle over 65 years old. Features include power windows (all working), hand-operated front wing windows, the original Wonderbar radio, and a power antenna (currently not functioning).
The four-barrel, 390-cu.in. OHV V8 engine was originally rated at 325 horsepower (gross). The seller believes the engine and carburetor are original and has no knowledge of any rebuilds. The car starts easily, runs well, and includes power steering, power brakes, and the original Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.
Recent maintenance includes a tune-up with new spark plugs and wires, a complete engine evaluation (compression test), and functional transmission and brakes. It has a new battery and whitewall tires with plenty of tread. The car runs quietly, and the exhaust system is in good condition.
This rare, unrestored 1959 Sedan DeVille, with its sharp and original 6200 Flat Top design, is being sold as-is!
