EXTERIOR: The fit and finish is amazing. The Opalescent paint is gorgeous, and compliments the body lines, curves, and angles of the car. It has a wide spaced grill, full width bumpers, Lucas lights, and larger turn signals on fenders. Correct 16 inch chrome wire knock off wheels are wrapped in radial tires. The extruded fog lights and dual tipped exhaust are part of the MC package. Our favorite part might be the fresh air vents that pop open or the race style mirrors that sit on top of the long front fenders.
INTERIOR: The high class continues inside, and it's been completely redone. The biscuit is a perfect complement to the paint. The first thing I noticed was the soft leather upholstery. Door panels look new, the walnut wood trim is outstanding. The Smiths gauges all match and include a 140mph Speedo, reverse sweep tachometer, and auxiliary gauges. The 4 spoke wheel w/ Jaguar horn has been refinished and sits on a telescoping column. The walnut wood dash is very classy and offers a velvet lined storage box and glove compartment. All the carpeting is matching with nice bound edges. The review mirror sits atop the dash and has a tinted flip up visor that matches the sun visors.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Under the hood you'll find the #'s matching performance Type C engine. It is a dual overhead cam straight six with the big valve cylinder head. Pushing the highest horsepower out of the XK model lineup at 210HP! This light little sports car gets up and goes. Overall, the engine bay is a work of art all by itself. Everything's been painted beautifully and shows like new.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Beautiful trunk compartment with matching biscuit upholstery, with nice leather liners. There's a car cover, hammer for knock off wheels, factory jack and tool kit. The spare is under the floorboard. The entire trunk is complete just how it would come originally. The jambs have been painted to the same glossy finish and the weather-stripping looks new.
UNDERSIDE: This car was rotisserie restored. The entire underbody is rust free and undercoated then painted the matching Opalescent color. The MC models came with larger torsion bars, a better drum brake system than lower trim models, dual exhaust and rack and pinion steering. The suspension and steering were completely rebuilt. The brakes were rebuilt. Fuel system was replaced, it has an electric fuel pump. Looking up at the motor and trans they are clean. This was the first year Jaguar offered an auto trans; the trans was bought from the U.S by Borg Warner and put installed in these cars. This has the original #'s matching trans as well! The rear end was serviced and has a polished cover.
SERVICE: The vehicle has been inspected through our on-site shop. We replaced the speedo cable, brake lights, and had a wheel alignment performed.
You don't see these early XK model Jaguars too often, and not to this concourse condition. This is a true piece of British racing history. An exciting Lemans winning sports car. Not to mention the highest trim with the best color combination.
A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership.
