1969 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396, 4spd. This factory green on green on green (frost green metallic) '69 396 has its original matching numbers drivetrain. The motor is the 325 hp variety, but it gets up and goes just fine. I have owned this for 4 years, purchased just prior to the pandemic. My very first car in high school was a 1969 Chevelle SS frost green, no vinyl top, black bench with a 4 spd.
The 396 motor was long gone and it has been replaced by a 402 that came out of a chevy truck. I loved that car and regretted selling it, but I had my eye on a well-worn 427 tri-power 1969 corvette for sale in my neighborhood; and while that corvette was awesome, I always missed my Chevelle SS.
Jump forward to January 2020, and I saw this beauty parked in a driveway on side street in West Hollywood. I had to stop, and when the owner came out, we struck up a conversation and he was thinking about selling. A few days later we struck a deal and it was mine. Needless to say, this awesome car was a great companion during the pandemic. Be it Sunday drives or just staring at it, it took me back to a time when car culture on Friday night was everything to my teenage self and my buddies.
Now I have relocated to Las Vegas and I have a smaller place with a garage the size of a sub-compact, and this has made me sell off my cars and motorcycles, and sadly my Chevelle has to go as well.
This starts right up, runs strong, shifts, turns and stops like it should. No squeaks, no body roll, no real issues. The only thing that I was going to address are pictured in the photos. The car was as it is pictured when I purchased the car in 2020.
The vinyl top has created some light cosmetic surface issues. You can see the photos for clarity, and if you did not address it, it would look the same years from now as long as you kept it indoors. The rear bumper has some scratches, and the shipping company tweaked the front license plate and the lower front bumper when they off loaded my vehicle.
This car does not leak, rattle, or make any unwanted noises. It just rumbles like a healthy 396 should.
Clean CA title in my name, vehicle is located in Las Vegas, NV, 89146.

Shout out to all of you chrome bumpered muscle car lovers holding it down in an age of tupperwarecars!
