For a No Reserve auction is this 1996 Chevrolet Corvette.  This Corvette was my father-in-law's, who recently passed away.  He purchased this in 2006, and did not drive it very much.  I know that since 2016, it has only accumulated 1200 miles; and has not been driven at all the past 2 years.

As you can see in the photos, it photographs very well.  A little too well, for the purposes of this auction.

It is a mostly original, 28 year old, daily driver quality car.  Throw a new set of tires on it, and it would be a really great summer car for you.  I took it out on the country square mile, and it goes, stops, and sounds; just like a Corvette should. Interior shows its age, and exterior does as well.  There are pine needles sticking in places they should not be, as well as a few spots of pine sap (I'm not removing them, as I don't want to damage the paint, I'll leave that for someone who knows what they are doing)

Polo green exterior, with a gold stripe that my father in law had added by a local body shop, makes it stand out from other Corvettes a little bit.

Another addition is the 96 Collector Edition wheels.  He found a set, and had them installed.  I think they look really good.  I do have the original rims, if the winning buyer is interested in having them.  I will include them in the sale, if you have room to take them. ( I will also include what I have of records, which isn't much, and any parts I can identify in the garage that would go with a C4 Corvette)

There is some sort of aftermarket exhaust installed, which sounds really good.  Not stock, not straight pipes; but somewhere in between.  You won't get pulled over, but it will still sound great.

He installed a radiator fan switch, because he hoped to take it cruising at some point, and wanted to be able to turn it on if he wanted to.  The fans do come on, on their own, like they should; so I'm not sure why he did this.

The good:
- New battery
- Starts easily
- Sounds great
- Runs out strong
- Brakes good
- Suspension and steering feel tight
- Would make a great summer daily driver
- Power antennae goes up when you turn the radio on, and back down when you turn it off :)
- Automatic climate control unit works, and A/C does put out cold air

The bad:
- Tires are at least 10 years old, and have deep cracks in them, I would not consider them safe. (see pic for example)
- Car has been mostly sitting since 2016 (1,200 miles added in that time)
- Cruise control does not work
- Driver's seat has split seam in bottom center (see pic)
- Paint rub on back bumper, below license plate, white in color, maybe could be rubbed out? (see pic)
- A couple pieces of the interior trim are cracked (see pic)
- Check engine light is on, not sure why.
- Driver's side door sill plate has a small triangular piece broken out of it (see pic)
- Clear roof panel has some crazing in it (see pic for view looking out)
- Passenger seat has some funny wear on the edge of the bottom cushion, front left corner (see pic)
- Could really use a thorough cleaning and detailing (it has sat around a lot)
- Air Conditioning doesn't blow that strongly, and I don't know if that is the fault of something in the vent system?  Or if they just are that way.  On high, the fan feels about half as strong as you'd think it should be.

I hope I've communicated the highs and lows I've noted clearly.  All of my observations are from getting it running, by putting the new battery in, about two months ago; and the recent short drive I took it on a couple days ago:  Out around the countryside for about ten miles, then to the car wash, then to take pictures, then back to the house.  Maybe 15 to 20 miles in total.

Despite being married to his daughter for 28 years, I've never driven, or interacted meaningfully with any of his cars, until after he passed away in March of this year.

I feel certain it is a good Corvette, an excellent performance value, and can give someone a lot of enjoyment in the future.

Vehicle is located in Au Gres, Michigan.  You are welcome to contact me and schedule an inspection if you would like to see it in person.

As for payment, I would prefer cash, or Escrow.com.  I will not accept checks of any kind.
