For consignment, a more modern iteration of the brand, a 2006 Audi A4 1.8T cabriolet with a title verified 59,303 actual miles. Our consignor states the car has been garage kept and indeed remains in great condition and sports a beautiful coat of blue.
Exterior
Class exemplified in the display of Aquamarine Paint topped by a dark blue canvas top! The country club, the riverside cafe, or even the local supermarket, the car just fits in as casual and upscale at the same time. Smooth, almost seamless body panels blend with bumper covers and fascia to create a contiguous, aerodynamic bullet of a car that looks relevant and modern nearly 20 years after being produced. Covered headlights and flush tail lights accent the clean lines of the car and the integrated door guard that extends across the midline adds perspective with a practical and body keyed spear. Polished metal surrounds the windshield and the 18-inch Elbrus 10-spoke wheels add some extra flair. The canvas top and its glass window is in great shape save for some separation on the lower edge of the window. Other imperfections include the typical chin scrapes, a few touched up scratches, and a lower scuff.
Interior
Gray door panels intersected between the leather and plastic header with a burlwood applique show just a bit of wear, most notably on the lock buttons of the driver's door. Gray leather bucket seats are appropriately sporty and have a myriad of controls on the matching gray plastic shell. The rear 2+2 seats are a bit narrower and indented from some use but otherwise in great shape, flanked by the wood trim that continues from the doors onto the rear sidewalls. A leather wrapped sport steering wheel is presented to the driver and Audi's signature tidy interior continues onto the dash where simple and clear gauges surround a digital screen sculpted to the shape of the circle frames, backlit digital displays in red. The center stack is like the exterior, smooth and practically seamless integrating the AM/FM/CD radio over the knobless climate controls. Our burlwood applique resumes on the passenger side dash and down onto the center console where it surrounds the robust shifter in a brushed aluminum plate. Weathertech mats protect the low pile gray carpet, always an indicator of a well maintained car. The trunk is lined with gray flannel and is clean.
Drivetrain
Under the hood, we find the clean presentation of the 1.8 liter DOHC inline 4 cylinder that puts out 170 horsepower. Audi's Multitronic CVT transmission is attached, and the car is equipped with power disc brakes front and rear.
Undercarriage
For a car that's been driven nearly 60,000 miles, this is an impressive underside with no surface rust and the center tunnel that looms over the exhaust and is covered with heat shields. That exhaust starts as a single pipe, then enters the original muffler, then exits as two, spitting chrome tips on each side of the rear valance. We note a bit of oil drift on the plastic engine tray covers. Macpherson struts are found up front and coil spring in the back with independent suspension front and rear.
Drive-Ability
The 1.8 turbo engine is a widely used and venerable German powerplant that provides adequate power and some top end acceleration when needed. Our car is a great handler as well and the disc brakes do not waver in their abilities. We're happy to report that all functions operated as expected and this car is ready to go!
A soft top luxury car with a definite sporty side, great lines, and a wonderful small size that makes it maneuverable and fun to drive. It's also versatile and could easily fit into your daily driver line up, especially on fair weathered days when the temps go up and the tops come down! Well maintained, nearly flawless, and relatively low mileage. Who's ready for a piece of the Audi lineage?
