THE FLAMES ARE JUST DECALS, SO IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THEM THEY ARE REMOVEABLE.

Up for sale is my 1955 Pontiac two door post. This has all the great looks of the 1955 Chevy, but its much rarer. I don't think you can go to a car show in the world, whether its a huge Goodguys show or your local drive inn where you don't see several 1955-57 Chevys.  Yes they are gorgeous cars, but after a while you see so many and you almost get tired of looking at them. 1955-57 Pontiacs have all the great looks of the Chevy's,  seem to be much rarer (how often do you see one), and just about half the price of a Chevy.  Its a win, win, all the way around. Anyway, here is mine :

The body and paint are very nice.  As far as the paint, it has a handful of little flaws, honestly its just things you get from driving and enjoying a classic car.  The hood has some rock chips (that are touched up), at the rear of the hood, about in the middle of the roof, and around some of the edges on the roof are a few marks/flaws. If I had to guess the wife was rearranging stuff in the garage said, hmm I'll just set this box on my husbands car, he won't ever know, and hence the marks.  Honestly you'll probably never even see them, but they are there. There are a couple spots right beside the drip rail where the paint was wetsanded but the buffer didn't get there, nothing a waxing won't fix.   So its got little stuff like that, but nothing serious.  As far as the body itself, I didn't build it, but if I was a betting man, I'd say it retains all its original sheetmetal it left the factory with. Everything looks incredibly solid, whoever owned this car through the years definitely took care of it, I would say it was in a garage its whole life, this isn't something that sat outside in a tree row. As far as the flames yes they are decals, they should peel right off if you do not like them. The big oval decal on the trunk also should peel off as well. As far as the chrome and stainless, I would say its never been restored, its not perfect, but it looks pretty darn nice.  On the pot metal/chrome stuff, it has a few flaws/bubbles here or there, but just walking around the car you don't notice it.  On the rear bumper the chrome has started to flake, I was going to keep a eye out at the swap meets for some nicer ones.

The interior has modern bucket seats.  They fit the car like they were made for it. I don't know what they are from, but the color and fit looks great.  Most modern bucket seats are super tall or they are too big and its awkward sitting in them when they are in a classic car, but not these, they are the perfect height and are very comfortable. The bucket seats are power, they do work, however for the forward/backward adjustment, if your sitting on the seats while adjusting them, you need to help them move. The angle of the back works good. There is a lever on the seat back, that probably operates the lumbar (manual adjustment), I'm not sure if that works. The rear seat must have been taken from the same vehicle that the bucket seats came from because it matches the buckets, and yes it looks like it was built just for the car. You could probably fool people into believing they are the original seats, they look that good. The carpet is newer, looks good, however at one time there was one of those armrest consoles between they seats. They trimmed the carpet for the armrest console, there is carpet over the area where the console was and it looks good, but if you look close you can see the area the console was at. The door panels, headliner, and windlace are original.  The door panels have a little wear here and there, but in my opinion are pretty darn nice. The armrests do some wear, but are useable.  The headliner is nice, but it has a few small mouse holes. Honestly they blend in super well, but they are there.  The windlace in places does show wear. As far as the dash, its stock.  Stock steering, stock steering column, stock guages, etc.  The speedometer works, gas gauge works, on the other guages I do believe they also work, the needles are in the mid ranges for both, but I'm not sure if they are working or if the needles are just stuck in those spots.  The radio and heater are not working. The rear view mirror is a little foggy, but you can see through it.  The latch for the glove compart sticks a bit, sometimes it pops open by itself, I was always going to take it off and soak it in WD40, but never got around to it. So yeah the interior needs a few little things, and yeah I'm being extra picky, but really everything I just described isn't that big of deal to address. The trunk looks very nice. If you want to get picky yeah there is probably a suitcase mark here or there, but it looks nice. The front windshield has some very slight delamination in the bottom corners, its so minor, you'd be crazy to change it, but its there.  There is window tint on the side windows and rear windows, the tint on the rear window in places in starting to come loose, I was just going to remove it all, but haven't gotten around to it.

When I bought it the guy told me it was a 60's 389, but I ran the numbers on the block and it shows up as a 1976 Pontiac 400. The engine appears to be completely stock.  It runs great, super dependable, starts right away, I haven't noticed any drips on the garage floor, that sorta thing.  The transmission isn't a powerglide, I was told its a Turbo 350, but I haven't run any numbers. Its probably the transmission that was in the car that the 1976 Pontiac 400 engine was taken from.  I believe its the stock rearend.   If I had to guess on rearend gears I'd say they are 3:36 or 3:55's.  Its a great combo for road trips. As far as the steering, brakes, etc. I believe they are all stock. It drives down the road great. If your pulling into a driveway sometimes the body creaks a bit, its just the suspension moving, probably a dry bushing somewhere. Never really bothered me, but its pretty easy to change bushings if you wanted to. The wheels are Cragars, that in combination with the lake pipes give it a unique look.  However the lake pipes just unbolt and the wheels are easily changed if you don't like them.  The tires have lots of tread but are starting to get little cracks in the tread. If you live in New York city and/or are planning on do aggressive driving buy new tires. Otherwise they should last for a while.   IF YOU DO NOT WANT THE WHEELS, TELL ME AND I'LL THROW ON SOME ROLLERS AND DISCOUNT THE CAR.

In the end this is a 70 year old car. Its a very nice car, but its not a frame off restored car. Its not perfect, there are flaws, however its also not the price of a perfect frame off restored car .  Also please keep in mind there may be things you want to change or there may be things that pop up that it needs after you own it, again it is afterall a 70 year old car.

I really don't want to sell it, but I'm losing storage.  This is a great deal on a nice car.

I work with truckers on a daily basis for my job, if you need help with transportation/getting the car to you, let me know and I can get you shipping quotes.

I will only accept cash when you pick it up or a bank wire transfer. I will expect to be paid in full within 48 hours after the auction ends.
