I have brought her from Europe last year, it was professionally restored there to original condition as much as it was possible and more: a complete nut to bolt restoration (hundreds of pictures available), sandblasted and powder painted frame, axles, overhauled engine and transmission, new clutch, new wheels, new tires, new paint, new rear door, reinforced floors, new folding benches/ seats in the back, seats 7 (4 in the back, 3 in the front), otherwise the interior was kept original, as it is still in a good shape.
These Land Rover Defenders are like legos, can be modified and accessorized to obscene levels, yet I prefer this machine to be pure and laconic, as intended by the manufacturer. Runs well, no issues, these machines are legendary, because they are reliable and simple to fix, at least 70% of all Landies manufactured since 1948 are still running, thus should be treated as way greener vehicles than the most advanced EVs- because they still run, and run well!
Another bonus: no screens, no menus, no options, no autopilots, no lane nor collision warnings, everything is as utilitarian, laconic and simple, as possible, so one feels the vehicle 110%- there are no computers, AI or modules to interfere with this pure driving experience. A real "go anywhere" machine.
There are some cosmetic issues I have not addressed yet, like some spots on the clear-coat, on the hood, or maybe the dash plastic cover should be replaced, but these are minor issues I am sure you won't be bothered with either.
The vehicle is unique because it has a considerably higher, raised roof top, must be a special-order vehicle, the previous owner - a Dutch farmer- could not tell me more, but so you know.
This Defender 90 is very special, for many reasons, and I want her in good hands from now on. Low reserve.
