This Terraplane came out of a 40 year car collection of my grandfather's. This truck has set in my grandfather's museum here in Ventura, California since the day he bought it. This Terraplane is in great condition and I would say, it is in ABOVE driver quality and shows very well. With my knowledge being limited on this Terraplane, it appears that it has all the correct moldings and pieces.
The paint and body on this Terraplane isn't perfect but I would give it a solid 7 out of 10. It does have some chips, bumps and bruises but is NOT rusty and would be an easy exterior restoration if somebody wanted to make it concourse.
The interior as you can see in the pictures is very complete and in great condition appearing to be original.
The truck runs EXTREMLY well
The engine is a mid 1950s Hudson Jet engine with dual carbs and pressure oil system.
It idles like a sewing machine and has great power.
Hudson's new inline L-head 202 cu in (3.3 L)straight-six enginethat produced 104 hp (78 kW; 105 PS) at 4000rpmand 158 lb·ft (214 N·m) of torque at 1600 rpm.
The 202 cu in (3.3 L) engine was a re-engineered version of Hudson's 1932 "3x4.5" 254 cu in (4.2 L) I8, less two cylinders, de-stroked, and configured for full-pressure lubrication. It was aflatheaddesign at a time when the rest of the industry was moving tooverhead valves.
. I have recently went through the mechanicals of the truck, including rebuilding the carburetors, fuel pump, fuel tank, fuel lines, and installing new hoses and fuel filters.
The clutch and transmission shift very smooth and go down the road nice and quietly.
I've put about 30 miles on it and I feel you could get in this truck and drive it around and go to shows without any problems.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions and I will answer them the best I can.
