Up for auction we have a Super Clean Nicely Restored 1931 Packard 826 Sedan, big 320ci - 8 inline cylinder and manual transmission, original and expensive brass carburetor Model 51, specially manufactured for Packard by Detroit Lubricator Company. For some reason these 826 body style are rare and hard to find despite the fact that in '31 it was not one of the most expensive Packards on the market, the original price was around $ 2,385, which of course was a lot of money back in 1931. Car was fully restored in central California, a lot of money and hundreds of hours of passionate work was put into this Black Beauty, runs, drives and stops as it should, mostly parked in a private collection after the restoration process was completed, driven only on a nice Sunday to the nearby classic car shows. Beautiful black paint and super clean interior, excellent chrome condition, very well tinted glass all around, rollup windows all in working order - you can see the windows were not used very much after restoration as the door panels don't have any round marks around window crane handle.... solid doors closing very well, very clean undercarriage and no rust at all, nice and clean engine compartment, this vintage automobile is a show winner ! Working parking lights, headlights, fog lights and working horn, engine fires up right away with every try, converted to 12 volt, brand new battery, 6 matching wide white wall tires in excellent condition-including both spares, original trunk rack, car comes with an old leather chest trunk, probably not a Packard trunk but still nice and functional, this antique Packard is full of prewar goodies like a Cadillac or a Rolls Royce - Ask the man who owns one !!! The wheelbase is 127.5 and the car weight is 4,479 pounds, that makes this Packard a pretty big and heavy car that will easily accommodate 5 people. The big 8 Cylinder engine puts out around 120 horsepower at 3200rpm, that is a lot compared with a 4 cylinder Ford Model A or even 6 cylinder Chevy and Buicks built in 1931. Clean Title in hand, car is ready to go to a new home and win some trophies this summer ! If you're in the market for a nice Packard act now, you can buy an unrestored one for around 30K .... and you'll spend another 50K to make it as nice as this one, a lot of money and passionate work was put in this "Black Beauty" !!!
