Description

“The Land Rover Series III was introduced in 1971. The Series III was the last generation of the original Land Rover built before the model was rebranded as the Land Rover Defender. The Series III featured a raft of upgrades over its production, helping create variants that were better equipped for passenger comfort, although the Land Rover was still the incredibly capable off-road vehicle it had always been.”

This 1973 Land Rover 88 Series III is powered by a 2.25-liter inline-four linked with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and a dual-range transfer case. The 2.25-liter inline-four was factory rated at 70 horsepower and 120 lb-ft of torque. Power is routed to the rear or all four wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive and a dual-range transfer case.

The car starts, runs and drives and transmission shifts well through gears. Clutch is good.

The truck is finished in cream over black vinyl upholstery and features 15? steel wheels, manually locking front hubs, power-assisted brakes, a hardtop, front and rear towing hitches, sliding side windows, and rear jump seats.

It features a hardtop, a galvanized front bumper, a steel rear bumper, a folding rear step, dual mirrors, spare-tire mounts on the hood and cargo door, and front and rear towing hitches. Bubbles in the paint as well as rust and other blemishes around the body are shown in the pictures.

Rust is visible on the frame, underside and body. We do have a good extra frame which can includes in the sale for extra price.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 95-mph speedometer along with a combination gauge indicating coolant temperature and fuel level, and an oil pressure gauge is installed to the right of the driver. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles.

The left-hand-drive cabin features three-across front seats trimmed in black vinyl upholstery. Interior equipment includes bulkhead air vents, a dashboard storage shelf, sliding side windows, and rear jump seats. Corrosion and rust damage are noted on the floors and bulkhead.

Body-color 15? steel wheels are mounted with 30x9.50? Cooper Discover ATR tires. The truck is equipped with manually locking front hubs, and stopping power is provided by power-assisted drum brakes.

The car has clean and clear title.

Any questions welcome.
