Hi everyone - I've unfortunately run into recent trouble with my beloved LR4 that has otherwise been painless to own. Car randomly started ticking loudly during a drive home, and eventually was towed to a local Euro mechanic shop - initially believed the problem was related to a timing chain issue and work was started on that effort as a result. The car in its current form has 7 hours of engine labor into it from when the valve covers and components were removed as part of starting to dig into a timing chain replacement, but was stopped short once a leakdown test was completed and found that the bank 2 exhaust camshaft was out of tune and cylinder 5 valves were bent – their recommendation was an engine replacement or attempting to rebuild – which I opted out of and had the car towed back home as-is. It's current form should hopefully help save labor cost/time for any of further engine work you may want to put into the car going forward. Any/all removed parts and components are included (see picture). Don't have time to tinker with it myself, nor the cash to throw at a shop to further attempt a rebuild or a replacement. Sold as is. Great pick up for anyone who is savvy working with Rovers. Just recently passed inspection earlier this year, has good brakes/tires and other than minor dings one would expect from a 10 year old car the body is in good shape and had no other known problems mechanically prior to this - we had planned on keeping this for may years to come but are not in a financial situation at the moment to throw money at the car.
