About this vehicle
This 2000 Jeep Cherokee is a one-of-a-kind vehicle that has been expertly modified to turn heads wherever it goes. With updates to the exterior, interior, and drivetrain, this Jeep is as unique as it is capable. The owner has lovingly cared for it for 5 years, using it primarily for fun weekend drives. The striking red color and clean title are just the icing on the cake for this exceptional ride. With only 76,000 miles on it, this Jeep has plenty of adventures ahead of it. Don't miss your chance to own a piece of automotive art that is sure to impress.Seller's Notes
Please don’t bid if you don’t have a positive rating. I will not accept offers for the jeep outside of the auction. This is very important so please pay attention to this part. Right now I’m waitlisted for a cruise that goes from July 3 until July 14. I will not be able to transfer the vehicle to you during that period of time. So we either work quickly, or we work very slowly and casually.Vehicle Details
I’ve driven this vehicle less than 500 miles in five years. So the tires, although 4-5 years old, have 500 miles on them. I put a lift kit on it, which required that I also put a slip yoke eliminator on the rear driveshaft, and a new driveshaft. The best thing I think I ever do to a vehicle is put the highest quality Bilstein high-pressure nitrogen shock over it.
It also has a rough country steering stabilizer, a Smitty built front and rear bumper, with the rear bumper being set up for spare tire and gas can, but with options for a high lift mount. The front bumper is a bumper designed for a “built in” looking winch. The rims are from a later Jeep, and the headlights are LEDs.
About 2 years ago, I had it professionally repainted. At that time I also installed the flat style fender flares, getting rid of the earlier style bulging flares.
I also put the Banks Turbo big diameter exhaust. It’s much louder now, but it DOES make a big difference. At that time, I put a new, large diameter catalytic converter on it too.
The good?
It took me 4 years to find a 75,000 mile Jeep, that lived its life in Florida before I bought it. This is a huge deal for these XJs.
It’s got a newly upholstered non- stock grey leather seats with red piping. Headliner was new 5 years ago. Not perfect, but close.
I thought the plastic tray and battery hold downs from Chrysler were dangerous; they’re replaced with a beautiful steel tray and hold down.
Battery is 3-4 years old; I kept it in a trickle charger, and it shows a static 12.6 volts on a voltmeter and cranks fine.
Every time I drive it, I run the air condition, the heater, put it in and out of four-wheel-drive and even run it in low range. Everything shifts and works seamlessly there.
The bad?
I’ve shown pics of the very minor surface browning on the chassis- truth in advertising.
The front bumper could use a light sanding and a satin black repaint in two small areas.
That darn stereo. I bought a reconditioned Chrysler stereo, with CD and Cassette. Works fine; But…. Only one speaker works intermittently. I enjoyed listening to the motor, so I never got around to replacing the speakers.
There seems to be a really slow leak to the washer fluid line ir reservoir.
If I were to keep it, I’d replace the battery cable.
The Neither good nor bad?
AC blows cool, but not freezing. Heater also blows warm, not hot.
I never got around to putting a winch in it. The fairlead is there though.
Doesn’t have power windows- preferred in Baja because they couldn’t fail you.
No cruise.
