Has issues with the VTEC and VTC systems. A shop diagnosed the issue to be due to oil pressure and recommended keeping the oil up, but full oil doesn't really help. What I found is that there is a weird range of oil where the car runs ok, but anything higher or lower than that magic range and it will run much rougher (stutter while idling, weak acceleration, occasional stalling). Talking to people who know cars more than me, it seems that it could be related to the timing chain, but I don't know for sure. The important thing is that it does run well enough in that magic range and it does go on the highway just fine (although the acceleration is still weak).
The ABS light also came on within the past couple of months see.
Sometimes it needs a little gas to start. This issue seems to be random. See pictures for error lights.
The brakes are brand new. Just got new pads, rotors, and front calipers replaced.
Burns oil and coolant. Oil is fine if checked with every gas fill-up, goes through about a quart every month and a half or so. Burns through about a gallon a month of coolant.
I didn't use the power windows much, but testing them recently they seem to be slower than I remember. The rear passenger one failed a year or two ago so the rest are probably on their way out as well.
Cosmetically it has some small rust spots and a large scuff on the driver's door. See pictures for more details. I vacuumed the interior and washed the seats with a carpet cleaner.
I have installed an aftermarket stereo, but I do have the original somewhere. If I find it I will include it. The current unit has bluetooth connectivity as well as an AUX input and a CD player. As for the OEM unit, a previous owner removed the CD mechanism itself for some reason, but everything else works on it. It has a cassette deck and it did have an old iPod connecter as an AUX, but I don't know if I kept that. Sometimes the passenger speaker goes out but for some reason that hasn't happened all year so it might have fixed itself.
No A/C. I tried recharging it a few years ago but that didn't work.
