EXTERIOR: These rare factory colors are verified by the cowl tag. Whoever ordered this car definitely chose wisely! Not your standard brown or cream colored Buick. The paint on this car looks fabulous! It was sprayed with great attention to detail and is laid out nicely. It was then wet sanded and polished to a very reflective and smooth finish. Looking down the side of the body It is laser straight. The panels are all aligned nicely and even the big heavy doors don't sag when opened and closes easily like a new car. It has dual sport mirrors and a rear spoiler that are painted body color. The functioning ram air hood also has a tachometer mounted to it that is functioning. The black power top has been replaced and is in very nice shape. The convertible boot is Pearl Ivory color and matches the interior as it should. The grille appears to be real nice. The front and rear bumpers have been rechromed, emblems and the rest of the trim is in great shape. It has factory style 15 inch chrome Buick mags wrapped in BFG radial T/A tires with raised white lettering.
INTERIOR: I absolutely love the Pearl Ivory colored interior! Not only does it look cool but it stays cool in the sun. The front bucket seats have been reupholstered and have new cushions as well. The seats have a great feel to them and are very comfortable. The faux wood grain center console with automatic shifter appears to be original and in good condition. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: What a sweet looking engine bay! This rare #'s matching 455 is a pure powerhouse rated at 350 hp and a stump pulling 510 foot pounds of torque! The 70 Buick was the torquiest V-8 produced in the muscle car era. This example which has received a meticulous restoration looks extremely clean and correct. It has the factory air cleaner which looks brand new and functions through the hood scoops. The remainder of the engine appears to be rebuilt with many fresh parts including the hoses and wires. It features power steering and brakes. Factory valve covers have been chromed. It has a factory style radiator, overflow bottle and fan shroud. It has electric wipers with a fender mounted washer bottle and even the squirters are hooked up. The bottom side of the hood, fender wells, and firewall have all been painted neatly in satin black.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: The underside of the lid and jamb have both been painted body color and are smooth and shiny just like the exterior. A reproduction sticker was added and the well liner and weatherstrip was replaced. Inside is clean, and solid painted with a factory style spatter paint. A jack assembly and lug wrench are included.
UNDERSIDE: The underside of this car is very detailed and looks amazing! The steering components all look to be in good condition and are currently working well. The suspension was rebuilt and upgraded with a Hotchkis Sport Suspension package. Upgrades include lowering springs, KYB gas shocks and a fatter swaybar in front. In back Hotchkis control arms, sway bar, lowering springs and KYB gas shocks improve the handling. A lot of Buicks were still using drum brakes, this one has front disc, the brakes were redone, the emergency brake is hooked up. Upgraded Pypes exhaust with an X-Pipe and stainless tips looks fresh. The fuel system including the tank and fuel lines have been replaced. Looking up at the #'s matching 455 motor everything appears to be fresh and clean with red paint and no visible leaks. Same goes for the VIN #'s matching Turbo 400 transmission; it looks nice and clean with no visible leaks. The trans linkage and mount have both been replaced. The 10 bolt rear end looks fresh with nice black paint. The floors look very solid with neatly applied black paint and no rust anywhere.
SERVICE: Our team of professional mechanics has completed a thorough inspection on the vehicle and repaired or replaced the following items: resurfaced the rotors, repaired the blower connection, repaired the headlight connection, replaced the speedometer gear, and rewired the tachometer.
Desirable and rare, 1970 is the one to have because it was the peak year for performance. Brown, gold, and green was popular back then on a Buick but not so popular today! The factory colors make this one very attractive. It's been body off frame restored too, what's your hold up? Go fast with class!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the car's condition in detail. **These cars are displayed in a museum.
