Really good bones on body and frame, has been kept inside for last 30+ years and not driven.  Just before i got it PO grandson in law replaced fuel tank and rebuilt front end.  I got it and replaced the carb with new one, new distributor, wires condenser tune up, replaced all fuel hoses from tank back, had a VW mechanic get all the lights working , the dash lights fixed the fuel guage working replace wheel bearings , drums , brake shoes, brake lines, fix parking brake, adjust valves, and anything else I could think of.  It drives really well and stops on a dime.  The engine is not stock, the PO gave to a grand daughter and she did not have all the particulars on the VW engine size.  I have driven these for 50 yrs or so and it has way too much power to be stock.  I removed the 2 bbl carb and intake, replaced it with new intake manifold and new stock ict34 carb, because i wanted it to drive well idle well and start easy, which it does. I put a stock accelerator cable on it so the gas pedal would function as vw designed it.
