This car is not just a great-looking cruiser; it's a unique piece that will turn heads wherever you go. The attention it garners is amazing, even surpassing that of my other trendy cars. Originally not intended to be a show car, its appearance and reactions from onlookers would make you believe it's worthy of a blue ribbon.
I am the third owner of this awesome MGB, and the second owner and I are making many improvements. To list a few: - Chrome bumper conversion - Refreshed interior (seats, dash, and carpet) - Tourist Trophy Exhaust - New suspension bushings, shocks and struts - Headrests and three-point seatbelts - Fresh paint is believed to be done in 2015 - Brake pads, brake shoes, and wheel cylinders - Master cylinder - Alternator - New convertible top
The engine and powertrain work really well. The car steers and stops straight. The exhaust tuning is perfect. It is normally soft-spoken as you go through the gears but will growl when you give it some pedal.
There are several things that I never got around to fixing: The heater controls don't work. The radio doesn't have speakers. The tachometer stopped working about 5 years ago, and the clock is stuck at 5 O'clock. Someone removed/disabled the emission control equipment required in 1977 and beyond. The crash bumpers were removed and replaced with chrome bumpers. The body is in extremely good shape. The paint job is good, but there are some imperfections on the trunk lid. It's hard to see unless the light is just right. No one ever pointed it out to me, but you will see it if you own a car like this.
I have owned the car since 2016. I bought a pretty healthy stash of things to continue the upgrades, but driving it was way more fun than working on things that didn't impact our enjoyment. The extra parts are included in the deal. We avoided highways. Although it does fine on the highway, 60 MPH is plenty in these cars, and you are likely to get in the way of someone wanting to go much faster. So, we found the scenic routes and cruised.
I encourage you to come inspect it if you are able. I have additional pictures and videos if there is something you would like to see.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The current, working, odometer (approximately 75,500) does not match the title (85,000). I am not sure how or when this occurred.
I am happy to answer any questions as well. Enjoy...
