1970 Chevrolet C1500 Custom Why This Car Is Special GMC Custom trucks were manufactured by General Motors from the 1960 to 2002 model years. Marketed by the GMC divisions, these Custom Series trucks were always considered a step above the regular Chevrolet CK Series trucks. We have a very nice 1970 Chevrolet C1500 Custom pickup here at Skyway Classics that is truly a vintage pickup with V8 power for quite a good price. Features 1970 Chevrolet C1500 Custom Four-barrel-equipped 350 cubic inch small-block Chevrolet V8 engine Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission Orange painted engine block and intake Edelbrock black and polished open air cleaner assembly and the matching valve covers Rochester four-barrel carb Factory cast iron exhaust manifolds Power steering Power brakes Air conditioning Clean and detailed engine compartment Dual exhausts Full-length black bench seat Black carpeting and floor mats Matching black door panels Factory dash with all the gauges and equipment Black factory four-spoke steering wheel Factory seatbelts Pioneer AM/FM stereo system Painted in Orange/Red and white two-tone paint scheme 'Square-body' nickname and the chassis Leaf-spring rear suspension and the heavy-duty 10-bolt rear Bed liner Black vinyl bed cover Dal towing mirrors Factory steel Rally wheels with GMC factory chrome hubcaps, trim rings, and center caps Cooper Cobra raised white letter Radial GT performance tires Mechanical When you look under the hood, the power comes from a four-barrel-equipped 350 cubic inch small-block Chevrolet V8 engine mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic 3-speed automatic transmission. It looks like it has been kept up well with a lot of factory parts such as the orange painted engine block and intake, with the addition of the Edelbrock black and polished open air cleaner assembly and the matching valve covers, Rochester four-barrel carb, factory cast iron exhaust manifolds, power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning, with the engine sitting in a very clean and detailed engine compartment. The A/C blows cold and this truck runs very nicely. Dual exhausts exit the rear and sound great when you get into the throttle. Interior The interior presents as well as the outside as the GMC Custom was a great looking trim level in the GMC lineup, and has features and options that included nice comfort and convenience features like black carpeting and floor mats, full matching black door trim, headliner with insulation, the full-length black bench seat features full foam padding, factory dash with all the gauges and equipment is functional, black factory four-spoke steering wheel, and factory seatbelts, aftermarket Pioneer AM?FM stereo system, and the air conditioning that blows cold. Exterior These GMC trucks were straight-lined and boxy in appearance, leading to their 'Square-body' nickname and the chassis was an all-new design with it receiving a leaf-spring rear suspension and the heavy-duty 10-bolt rear end too. Ours is painted in Orange/Red and white two-tone paint scheme that gives the truck an upscale look and breaks up the two paint colors perfectly. It has the sides lined in black to protect it as well as a vinyl bed cover, has dual towing mirrors, and rides on factory steel Rally wheels with GMC factory chrome hubcaps, trim rings, and center caps, with Cooper Cobra raised white letter Radial GT performance tires. Conclusion These 1970 GMC C1500 trucks, like the one we have here at Skyway Classics, are very hot right now and this one is sure to move quick. Great options, 350 cubic inch engine and automatic transmission combination, and the desirable two-tone color combination make this truck a great addition to anyone's garage or a great work truck.
