? 2011 Retired CHP K9 Crown Victoria for Sale ?
Up for sale is this retired 2011 CHP K9 Crown Victoria with an almost complete set of equipment to restore it back to its in-service glory. The vehicle comes with a TON of history, documents, photos, and more. It was assigned to one officer for its entire service record of around 9 years, and that officer had three separate K9s. The K9 Vic was assigned to the CHP Coastal Division, with its officer's "home base" being Santa Cruz, and spent most of its life patrolling in the Santa Cruz, Monterey, Santa Clara, and San Benito Counties. It only has around 161,600 miles on it and the following items were replaced in the last couple years and last 25,000 miles of service (see photos for records): New Engine, New Transmission, New Differential, front and rear suspension parts, AC system, and more.
2011 Ford Crown Victoria
Purchased by CHP, equipped and assigned to Coastal Division on a service date of 9/19/2012. Hit it's first 5,000 mile service on 1/16/2013 and off it was as a new K9 Crown Victoria! Hundreds of documents of repairs include CHP's handwritten records as well as dealership receipts of the repairs.
All four tires show 9MM and are in great shape. Spare is also good. The paint has normal wear and tear from a K9 vehicle but is in relatively good shape. The interior is in above average condition for CHP patrol vehicles, mainly because it is a "one owner" patrol car, meaning it was assigned to one person it's entire in-service life. The assigned officer had purchased his own all-weather floor mats for the front so the carpet is in great shape, with the exception of a tear on the driver's dummy pedal area. The battery is brand new this month. It would have had its 160K service, which includes an oil change, air filter, and a full over inspection. Within the year of its in-service life, it received several A/C and cooling system repairs, including a new radiator and condenser, a new cooling fan, a new accumulator, a new A/C compressor, a new blower motor and relay, and several A/C services trying to diagnose an overheating issue. This ended up being something wrong with the engine and a remanufactured engine was installed along with some engine harness and typical parts you'd replace at the same time, like the water pump and various gaskets. At the same time, the differential was rebuilt. A few months later, the transmission started acting up and it was replaced with a remanufactured transmission. At the same time, it also was brought to the dealership with another "noise in the rearend" and some squishy suspension complaints. The front struts and control arms were replaced, and the rear shocks and control arms were also replaced. At the same time, they had to rebuild the differential again under warranty. The vehicle was also given a full detailing. It wasn't in-service for hardly 3 more months before being put to pasture, which makes this vehicle a very good purchase with all of its major drivetrain components replaced within the last 25,000 miles!
Vehicle is registered in California and will be smogged after payment, and before pickup for any California buyer. If you are an international buyer, I will work with your shipping company and deliver the vehicle to a pickup location within 10 miles. Anything further will require compensation or a local transportation company to haul it.
Items Included in Auction
? Documents and Files ?
- A thumb drive with over 7,000 files, including: maintenance records, in-service photos (including 80 very detailed photos of the entire vehicle fully equipped a few days before it retired), custom digital art, computer configuration files, wiring diagrams, and other documents.
- Copies of the original documents when purchased from CHP before registering it and turning the CHP title into DMV.
? RCMP Computer System ?
- NEW Rockwell/Collins computer system used by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which is an almost exact replica of the extremely hard to find, and terribly troublesome to build, Consolidated Patrol Vehicle Equipment (CPVE) computer system used by CHP. The following NEW parts are included with the RCMP system: Base Control Module (BCM), Keyboard, Multi-Function Display (MFD), Microphone, Hand Control Device (HCD), Harnesses, MFD bracket for mounting where stock radio hole is, adjustable Keyboard stand with aluminum rail mount, Mobile Digital Computer (MDC)/GPS antenna used by CHP, and other associated hardware. The following USED parts are included to help complete the CPVE system: HCD pedestal bracket, HCD microphone mount, and other misc. hardware in photos. For clarification on the differences between the RCMP computer and the CHP computer system, I will list out all the components CHP uses so you can see the benefit of utilizing the simple all-in-one RCMP unit instead. CHP uses a Repeater, a Diplexer, a Modem, 4 different radios, a scanner, a Whelen control box, a Power Management Unit (PMU), a dedicated battery in the trunk, a Base Control Module, a separate Windows Control Module, an integrated Radar unit, and a TON of separate, and CHP built, wiring harnesses to integrate everything together. CHP paid over $43,000 per vehicle to equip using this equipment. You can find used stuff online but getting it all to work would be a wasted venture without the software programming for EACH COMPONENT and the custom wiring harnesses. Thus, the RCMP unit is the best setup for reproducing your CHP Vic to it's in-service days. With the files provided, your unit will also visually perform and appear on screen just like CHP vehicles.
- Also included are the complete iForce configuration applications and files provided by Rockwell/Collins to setup the RCMP computer system. These setup files include all appropriate CHP button setup on all screens, excellent for recreating the car back to its in-service condition. There are over 6,300 files and 360 folders of configuration data, PDF files, and instructions, including a 100-page document from Rockwell/Collins outlining every component and wire of the RCMP system to give you ease of installation.
? Antennas ?
- Complete CHP antenna setup with all period correct, in-service matching antennas, including the hard-to-find CHP CB whip and brand NEW MDC antenna. Nine antennas in total, color matching what was installed on the K9 Vic when it was in-service.
? Lighting Equipment ?
- 4 USED CHP Raider lights will be included, 2 for the NEW Mirror Pods and NEW Bezels and 2 for the Push Bumper. A USED CHP Dual Raider mirror light pod, CHP bracket and CHP flash back shield. Also included is a USED CHP Dual Raider pod for the trunk, with appropriate color light pods. The only lighting equipment missing for this build is the 7-Head Whelen deck light for the back window. Many purchase an 8-head light and cut it down.
- Eight USED CHP Raider light brackets. CHP uses these in many locations on the vehicles, including the mounting points for the rear deck light, push bumper lights, some of the radio equipment and other custom equipment mounting.
? K9 Cage ?
- Impossible to find USED CHP K9 cage. It is almost complete and includes the following: cage partition that mounts behind the front seats, bezel that fits flush to floor behind seats, one-piece aluminum K9 floor section (no rubber mat), passenger door panel, both hinged window screens, brackets that hold cage to B pillars, some small panels that hold the cage to the C Pillar area, and the rear portion of cage with drop down section to access rear deck light area. Also includes the rear fan and fan specific bracket that was installed on this vehicle. Some mounting hardware is included, but not sure if it’s specific for this cage as the mounting brackets are hidden inside the patrol vehicles and can’t be referenced. Missing is the roof section of the cage, driver’s door panel, and small steps that block off doorstep area (which are made of a 2X4 painted black).

Also located in the trunk was the original fan and bracket, with a spare fan grill, and original push bumper siren mount, although bent.
