Upgraded to a 383 OHV V8 that was overbored 0.040-inch and stroked to deliver 434 cubic inches. It’s also equipped with a FAST electronically controlled fuel injection system, with the throttle body mounted on an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold. The engine starts easily and idles well, with no smoke.
The cooling system has been upgraded, too, with a thick aluminum radiator fitted with a pair of electric fans. The three-speed automatic transmission was rebuilt during the restoration and shifts well.
Painted about five years ago, the custom blue finish on this vintage Charger remains in great condition. The body is rust-free, with a number of custom touches including welded and smoothed rear quarter panels where they meet the body to eliminate the overlaying trim, shaved door handles and locks, shaved cowl vents, a shaved fuel door, and the addition of functional twin hood scoops.
Inside, this Charger’s cabin has also been customized, with a bespoke center console trimmed in leather and matching door panels; custom leather-trimmed speaker boxes; racing-style high-back bucket seats trimmed in black vinyl; replacement Speedhut gauges with blue faces; new stereo, amp, and speakers; new dark blue carpet; new steering wheel; performance shifter; and more.
All the elements are in excellent condition. There’s little apparent wear in any of the upholstered components, the headliner was replaced during the restoration but also remains in excellent condition.
The car has functional air conditioning, and the trunk was customized with a built-in cooler.
The chassis, suspension, and braking elements are in excellent condition.
