With a swing of the doors, you see dark green broadcloth door panels. Knobs, pulls, and cranks all are shiny looking. Dark green broadcloth covers the front and rear bench seats. The metal dash remains like original and sports a dark brown dash front and tan dash top. A booster switch is on the steering column for the turn and hazard signals. the push button radio has been updated for both AM and FM stations. On the floor is some thin black carpet and black protective floor mats. A green mohair headliner is above and is tight to the ceiling. Color matched seat belts are front and rear. The trunk area is fitted with a new deluxe tan panel kit, tan carpeting and the original jack stand and lug wrench.
DRIVETRAIN:
Under the hood is a sweet running 6-cylinder engine with 216 cubic inches topped with a 1-barrel carburetor and air cleaner assembly. A stock 3-speed manual transmission and clutch assembly is bolted to the block. In the back is a stock axle assembly. The original 6 volt charging unit has been updated with a 3-wire, 12-volt alternator that provides plenty of power for the new 12-volt lights. Minor upgrades include new wiring, a 12-volt coil and distributer condenser, horn relay and gauge voltage reducers.
UNDERCARRIAGE:
The frame is structurally sound, body hangers floor pans and rockers are rust free, Independent coil springs are upfront. Leaf springs are in back with 1 3/4 inch lowering blocks. New kingpins with roller bushings connected to new disk brakes and brake lines complete the front end. A set of Fenton headers and dual exhaust exit thru two chrome tips. A new gas tank and sender assembly have recently been added.
DRIVE-ABILITY:
This car cranks right up and performs beautifully on the road. Runs smoothly, shifts nicely, and has excellent braking, thanks to the front disc brakes. A great cruiser, and with the Epas power steering has a modern feel. It's a dream to drive.
EXCEPTIONS:
The radio has been converted to 12 volts. The ON/OFF and AM/FM switches are under the middle of the dash. Two items that have not been upgraded to 12 volt are the heater blower motor and windshield wiper motor. Recently the headlights and blinker/hazard lights have become inoperative.
