I am selling out my complete car collection minus 1 or 2 cars. Please feel free to check out my other listings, and there will be more added in the near future.
Please don't ask what else I will be selling. I list other cars when I feel the time is right.
Please don't ask for my reserve price. I will not give it out, and only bid what you or comfortable with and no more.
NOTE: You will notice that I received a negative feedback rating recently. If you have any reservations about buying from me, then please feel free call me for an honest explanation and I will give honest answers to any questions you may have about this particular car. This inexperienced "1 Ebay rating " guy hit the buy it now tab THEN wanted me to ship the car to him in New York, for his inspection, BEFORE he paid me for it? I refused of course. He eventually paid for it and received the car. After he got the car, he called me irate that it would not pass a New York state safety inspection? He bought an old vintage drag racing car, and he evidently expected it to pass a New York State safety inspection? Of course it would not and it was unreasonable for him to think it would. If that was a requirement for the sale, then he should have asked me if it would before buying it. Regardless, WE agreed that I would pay for the parts needed to make it pass inspection and he would install them. About $600. worth of parts. He then decided he wanted much more? Most of the other issues he states are just not true. Check out my other car sales and comments from those honest and reasonable buyers.
This is a TRUE rust free survivor from California with only 74000 original miles.
Please click on the attached youtube video below to hear it run and to see it close up.
Body: Paint appears to be original with natural patina. If you want shinny, it will need a complete repaint. There are minor dents and dings as one would expect. I tried to get closeups on the attached video. The chrome and stainless trim is in very good to excellent original condition. Even the chrome around the windows is excellent with none of the common rust pitting these cars can have. The right front fender was replaced at some point which is why the paint on it is much worse than the rest of the car. As with most cars exposed to extreme sun, the weatherstripping is shot around the doors. The floor pans, trunk pan, rockers, etc. are very solid and have always been rust free other than surface rust. New fuel tank.
Interior: The headliner and dash are near perfect. The seats need covers and the front seat also needs new foam. Door panels need replacing. Carpet is OK for a driver. Front seat is power and appears to work, but the welds on the front seat brackets have failed causing a need for a board under the rear of the seat to stabilize it. Things that work: speedometer, temp gauge, lights, generator light, heater controls, wipers, horn, dome lights. Things that don't work: Oil idiot light, radio, clock, blower fan.
RARE OPTION That I don't know if it works or not: Speedminder option. Knob on dash in pics to the right of ignition switch.
My understanding is that this option is worth thousands of dollars if you can find a complete set-up for sale somewhere.
Driveline: All original and numbers matching. 283 V-8 powerpack 4 barrel engine with a 2 speed powerglide transmission. Both run great. New tune-up, belt, hoses, battery, fuel pump, tires, brakes, ball joints, A arm bushings, sway bar bushings, etc. NO POWER steering or brakes. The rear end front seal is leaking.
This car has not been driven any long distance in over 10 years so I would not recommend driving it home any long distance. Best to trailer to get it home or have it shipped, then drive it around locally until you can feel safe with longer trips. It may be just fine, but I don't want to mislead anyone.
It is very hard to find 59 Chevys that are, and always have been, rust free. 4 door flat tops have a lot of possibilities to meet any person's personal taste in building a custom car. Ad air ride, bags, hydraulics, metal flake paint, lowering kits, etc. Make into a custom, street rod, cruiser, low rider, bring it back to it's original glory, or just drive it as is. This car is a perfect blank slate to work with.
My name. location, and phone number is in with the pictures. PLEASE call me with any questions BEFORE bidding. I don't want any misunderstandings like I recently had with another member.
Thanks, Dave
