1931 Plymouth Model PA Sedan

Exterior
A simply curved chrome bumper leads the way and frames the bottom of this beautiful automobile.  Just behind is a chrome encased radiator surround with a metal mesh pattern grille which is near perfect.  A single large round headlight, also encased in chrome, hangs off of either side of the radiator via a chromed bar attached to either fender inside.  A long cowled hood covers the engine bay and is painted in maroon and shows some chipping of the paint.  Flanking on either side is a curved fender which makes a slow dive to a common running board and eventually connects to the rear fender.  This is painted black and within either fender in front is a metal encased spare tire with a side view mirror on top.  The passenger compartment is accessed with 4 doors with a common central pillar.  Large glass is noted on this compartment allowing a panoramic view from any seat position.  The roof is painted in accenting black and doors as well as window frames in maroon.  Paint on these surfaces is also chipping and shows some cracking.  On the back, an oval window and a curved bottom of the roofline gives the car a late roaring 20's look.  Way out back is a black trunk with brass corner protectors.  The bottom of the car shows another very nice curved bumper in neat perfect condition.  19-inch black painted wire wheels are wrapped in ultra wide white wall tires.  The car exudes success and is all luxury in its presentation.

Interior
A swing of the wood framed doors reveals plenty of broadcloth covering, shiny handles and a storage pouch.  These doors are in a tan/mauve color way and are nearly perfect with their deep sill wood window framing.   Slipping inside a full front and rear bench is installed and is also in very good condition.  These benches are covered in a light corduroy tan tuck and roll and the bolsters are smooth and delightfully comfortable.  The rear bench has some curvaceous arm rests within the car side panes in back.  A chromed foot rest folds down for rear passenger comfort and plenty of room.  Gold carpeting in nearly perfect condition covers the floors.  Upfront the dash is a faux painted woodgrain and has a centrally located spun pattern metal panel to house the instruments.  Unfortunately, one of them has gone missing.  The headliner is off white mohair and has stitched panels and is fairly tight and highly padded.

Drivetrain
A restored 196ci L-head 4 cylinder engine shows in its cast metal glory and is in very nice condition.  It has a 1-barrel carburetor and on the back is a 3 speed manual transmission.  The rear axle is a 4.33 ratio variety.  All nicely redone and showing a little rusting where the water hoses attach to this engine.

Undercarriage
Down below the floor pans and other stamped surfaces have a thick coating of rustproofing.  The frame shows some surface rusting, but remains solid.  Leaf springs are all 4 corners, and drum brakes are all around.  A single exhaust is making its way from front to rear and is in good condition.

Drive-Ability
While the engine does turn over by hand, no attempt was made to start it.

An earlier restoration leaves this car with some paint faults on the exterior and a good looking interior.  Not perfect but still holding its own it can be driven and enjoyed after some tinkering, or put it back to make it perfect.  Either way you are dealing with some good bones to start with.
