This 1956 Lincoln Premiere Convertible, one of just 2,447 produced, has been the subject of a thorough, professional, body-off restoration that was completed in 2016. This Lincoln is believed to be a factory special order, as evidenced by the “SOLD” and “RUSH RUSH” stampings on the firewall tag alongside the serial number.
DRIVETRAIN:
• Rebuilt engine
• Rebuilt transmission
• Rebuilt fuel and cooling systems
• New aluminized dual exhaust system
CHASSIS:
• Frame was sandblasted and painted black, along with the majority of chassis and suspension parts.
• Power steering and power brake systems were fully restored, with all new lines and hoses throughout
• New whitewall tires
• Original Wheels
BODY AND PAINT:
• Rotisserie resto
• Painted in its original Starmist White using quality Sikkens single stage urethane
BRIGHTWORK:
• Most all pot metal, chrome, and stainless on the car, both exterior and interior, has been re-chromed or polished
CONVERTIBLE TOP:
• The hydraulically operated top bow assembly was completely disassembled and restored, with all new hydraulic lines and hoses, and new weather seals installed.
ELECTRICAL AND HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS:
• New wiring harnesses were installed
• Original signal seeking Town and Country AM radio was professionally restored and is in good working order, including the foot-activated seek control.
• All power window and seat components were rebuilt or new, and all remain in good operating condition
INTERIOR:
• The Premiere, with Startmist White and the white-and-yellow interior, is believed to one of just three produced in this color combination.
• Matching materials trim the door and side panels, wind lacing and sun visors
• The restored steering wheel shows no cracks with a nice horn ring and center button
• The restoration included all new rubber items, weather seals, glass channels and sweepers throughout.
• The trunk has new full lining and mat, matching spare, and jack.
