We love this car and have been on many great family camping trips all over the west coast, but the time has come to move on as our family keeps getting bigger. We bought this van over 10 years ago with 120,000 miles on her and immediately starting to take her camping. We have been all over the Sierra Mountain range in California, even up and over the Sonora and Tioga Pass, both are over 9,600ft! We also did a lot of beach camping along the California and Oregon coasts. And the more trips we did, the more parts we began to fix or upgrade. We treated this camper like it was our home, and we know that the next owners will appreciate all the little upgrades we have done that make camping in this van even more enjoyable. Since we have owned this camper it has always been garaged when not in use. Over the years we have owned this van, it has only been used to go camping or on weekend day trips down to the beach, it was never used for daily driving. So that’s a little history of our ownership of this awesome van and we will definitely miss her. Now let’s go over all the details.
Here’s a list of all the major work we have had done over years that we have owned this VW. All normal maintenance was done regularly and is not listed here. We have all the receipts for the major work we had completed, totaling well over $15,000. We also have the original VW owner’s manual and folder from Winnebago, which has instructions and information for all the camping equipment.
• All camping gear is complete and is in great working condition! Nothing is missing, both tables and all bed pads are there. The pop-tent is even in good shape, with only a couple small wear spots. Three years ago we pulled all the camping equipment out and had the refrigerator repaired (it didn’t work on the propane setting), new sink water pump, new struts for the pop-top and sink/stove cover, thoroughly cleaned the stove assembly, and had the furnace heater unit serviced.
• 10ft Awning – one of the biggest we could get! Provides great shading!
• Upgraded Interior Lighting – my wife’s favorite upgrade
• Upgraded Non-Slip Shelf Mats - for all of the cabinets and drawers
• Upgraded Heavy Duty Carpeting
• Upgraded Tinted Windows and New Windshield
• Upgraded Brakes
• Upgraded Heavy Duty Transmission Cooler with Thermostat Fan
