Massive yet chic, this nearly 5,000lb automobile, has an aura that stretches far beyond its large proportions. The slab-sided body, which is all there but, overall the car will need some TLC on all fronts, interior, exterior, engine and undercarriage. The dreaded tin worm has taken over on the rear wells and on a section of the underside of the trunk. Take a close look and you will get a feel for what she will need.
Exterior
The car will definitely need TLC but all the bones are there for this exterior. All trim is on over black paint, some satin primer, some scratched and rusted panels mostly in back have a dull shine. A big chromed shaver style grille with dual flanking headlights and a large wrap around bumper lead the way. The hood ornament is on and thin trimmings highlight the upper edge of the front quarters and door sills as well as the rear quarter tops. All window trimmings are still shiny as is the stainless rocker covering on the cars lowers. The doors share a common B pillar for the latches, however the rear doors do not open. A large trunk lid and cathedral style tail lights are on either edge of the back fenders. Below is another massive wrap around bumper and some ribbed stainless for the sill under the lid. 15-inch wheels are capped with Continental hubs and are wrapped in 235/75R15 tan whitewall rubber from 2007.
Interior
Black leather with numerous cracks and folds, (although not open to the foam padding), are in front between the black leather covered door panels.. These panels show wear, and dirt with plenty of dulling and patina. Fronting this leather is a black factory steering wheel which makes its way out of an original dash that houses instruments and a lineup of gauges in vertically oriented deep bezels that emulate the Continental star shape. Conveniences such as intermittent wipers, climate temp control, power locks and a power antenna are seen. Also an AM radio is installed from the factory. Overall condition of the dash can best be described as dirty and plastic coverings are a bit cloudy. Carpeting is well worn and faded with some water staining on the front end of the hump under the dash. The headliner is a perforated style and is actually tight and looks good. Visors are dimpled.
Drivetrain
Under the hood in an unrestored engine bay with lots of corrosion sits an 8 cylinder 430ci with a 4-barrel Edelbrock carburetor on top. There's currently no air cleaner covering. On the back is attached is a dual range 3-speed automatic transmission which puts power back to a 2.89:1 axle. Like new stainless steel exhaust and mufflers are on.
Undercarriage
Minor and major surface rust is seen very intermittently throughout the underside and lower doors. Some invasive rust has invaded the underside of the driver's side of the trunk bottom. Power drum brakes are on all 4 corners.
Drive-Ability
The car starts but after a bit it stalls due to a clog in the fuel system. The rear doors do not open, the AC is non functional, and power windows are slow.
