About this vehicle

This 1999 GMC Sierra 1500 is an original. The owner has had it for 1 year. The vehicle is drivable and is mainly used for weekend drives.

Vehicle Details

Instead of muddling around with what I think is great about the truck, I will tell you the known things that may be issues.

First, the frame has had some repairs done by the previous owner. Even with the repairs, there is a fair amount of rust on the frame. I have not had any problems thus far, but it may be worth looking into further.

The spare tire is missing. It was missing when I bought the truck ~a year ago, and I did not get new one.

The truck itself starts on the third turn of the key when cold. It is consistently the third turn, which is weird, but once it's running it runs quite well.

The check engine light comes on very sporadically. I have tried getting the code when it appears, and nothing comes up. There is not really anything consistent that I have found with when or why this happens. Again, something weird, but it does not seem to effect anything.

Finally, the parking brake light also comes on sporadically. Usually when going on a tight curve or hitting a bump. The parking brake does not actually come on when the light is on, so its something about the line jiggling that activates the light.

Enough of the bad, i will tell you now of the good aspects of the truck.

It drives great, I have used it pretty consistently over the last year and have been able to haul a decent amount of furniture/objects over that time. The 4wd both high and low work well. I have used them both in different situations with no issues. A/C, radio, lights, etc. in the cab all work. I have put about 10k miles on the truck since I got it, and have changed the oil regularly. It's a good truck, in my opinion, but it is 25 years old. I am only selling it cause I got a great offer on a newer truck.
