Hi. Thanks for looking!

This listing is for a 1989 Dodge Dakota Sweptline Sport Convertible

1) Yes, it is a convertible pickup truck, factory OEM from Dodge. Born that way, in production in Warren Michigan, with the top fitted under Chrysler contract by American Sunroof Corporation.

2) Yes, it is very Dodge / Mopar racing green. Green with black racing stripes on the hood.

3) Yes, it runs well, and is fun to drive.

4) Yes, it is AWESOME for the beach (or the local cars and coffee event).

5) No, of course that is not the original color or interior. (1989 was not that cool. Originally this was reddish burgundy.)

This Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible Pickup has a 3.9 liter 6-cylinder engine. This is the RWD (2WD) automatic 4 speed transmission model.

The history of this car is that someone spent crazy money (supposedly $18,000+) to redo this truck, replaced the engine, transmission and completely redid the exterior and interior to have it as what you see today. Then sadly (due to their illness), it sat for a while instead of being driven.

I picked it up, addressed challenges it had and got it running for you, so you can enjoy it and take over the ownership of this unique vehicle. You will get all the receipts and documentation that I have, for the work that I have had done.

The top is new, the pickup bed (new) is rhino-lined, and the tonneau cover (new) tilts open, can have the top rolled back, or is removable, if you wish.

INCLUDES: Haynes "Dodge Dakota Pick-Ups 1987 through 1993 Automotive Repair Manual"

IS IT WORTH IT? Well, I think so ... (but the wife says too many toys! ?).

If you want to benchmark it, one of these Dakotas sold at Mecum Auctions for $20,000, so the price is going up. And only a handful were made by Chrysler back then, so, yeah. Rare and worth it.

It's not perfect: it will have some things that you will likely address over time...but that is what these toys are for.  (Ex:  A/C needs recharge or compressor, ABS light is on (brakes work fine)).  Right now, it's a great 10-footer...  but has the potential to be much better.  Still, this is a 35-year-old car so please know that there will usually be something that needs to be addressed.  And, as I am just a guy (and not a car dealership), I am not offering a warranty on this used vehicle.

That's why I'm not asking $20,000,  as this was built for fun and conversations at the local car shows, not a garage queen car. This needs to drop the top and pull the jet skis to the sound and have some fun.... Will it be yours?

While originally a Tennessee / Kentucky car, the Florida title is clean and in-hand, car qualifies for antique plates in many states.

I don't deliver, but I will work with your chosen shipping company to make sure it gets on the way.

Still reading? Great! You will love this as much as I do.   If you are local to the Pensacola area - contact me and we can set up a visit -- the beaches here are AWESOME!
