Details
This 1946 Hudson Super-Six has been lovingly cared for by its current owner, who purchased it in 2020. This hard-to-find example of the extinct American brand is in good drivable condition for an 80-year-old car. This 2-door Club Coupe was one of the first cars produced after WW2, redesigned with a distinctive recessed front chrome grill and amber fog lights. The deep burgundy paint has recently been re-sprayed, complementing the striped gray cloth upholstery and burgundy accessories. It boasts a unique swiveling front passenger seat to allow easy backseat entry as well as a single full-cover front floor mat with Hudson insignia.
This Hudson is powered by 212ci flathead six-cylinder engine that sends power to the rear wheels through a manual shift-on-the-column transmission. The paint was refreshed in 2020, along with the chrome work. Other restoration work includes new upholstery, headliner, and restored mechanical systems, as well as lights and under-dash wiring. The new carpeted and lined trunk contains a covered spare tire and jack assembly. The dashboard was professionally restored to a beautiful rosewood grain finish. The vehicle retains a six-volt electrical system and spotlight. Modifications to the car include an electric fuel pump and lap seatbelts.
A third-party inspection was conducted, and third-party photos were taken to document the vehicle's condition. The inspection report includes a video of the engine running, and the odometer shows 85,033 miles, which the owner believes to be the actual mileage. The current owner purchased the car in 2020.
Included in the sale of the vehicle are a car cover, two sets of keys, and extra parts.
This Hudson is available in Ventura, CA, as a Premium Listing on CLASSIC.COM and is being sold by Robert Lewis.
About the model
The fourth generation of Hudson Super Six was introduced in 1940. The fourth generation Super Six was offered as a coupe, sedan, or convertible and was powered by a 3.5L inline-six engine that produced 102hp. Production of the Hudson Super Six was suspended for 1943-1945 due to WW2, yet after the war, production resumed and continued until 1951, when Hudson discontinued the model.
