This truck runs, is street legal, insurable, and was registered in WA but is not street legal here in Oregon, and it has a clean title. New items  are:  tires, battery, spark plugs, air filter, brake switch, thermostat, alternator, oil filter, and water pump. The previous owner also had the radiator tested and professionally cleaned, replaced many of the coolant hoses, and had the coolant system flushed. He also did a block test that didn’t show any combustion gases in the coolant system. He also tested the radiator fan and  temperature switch. All the belts appear to be in good shape including the timing belt, the headlights, brake lights, and the brakes function perfectly as well.
The body of the truck is definitely in fair condition. Overall it looks good
, however, Japanese Kei cars/trucks are notorious for rust. For example, the truck bed has been painted over with heavy duty truck bed liner, but there are holes where the rust had eaten through. Another example of a body issue, is the small battery panel on the side. It’s hard to see but there is a crack in the panel and it can be screwed on but the previous owner energy found it was just easier to use a small zip tie.
The previous owner said he didn’t have any issues finding the parts for it, it just takes time doing some research on replacement parts. The previous owner said h was able to purchase everything locally, but he said that there are parts that would need to be bought on-line through retailers such as Yokohama. Mikes Imports in Vancouver was a great mechanic for the truck as well.
Class winners in Olympia WA has been a great source for information as well.
Kei cars and trucks are fun to drive and there is a great community out there full of resources. This truck is a working vehicle and not a parts truck, but none the less Kei cars and trucks take love.
I wouldn’t recommend this cute little truck to someone that’s not willing to put in the time.
