This 1962 Jeep Willys Pickup underwent a full restoration in 2016-2017 and shows just 2 miles on the new odometer (total mileage is unknown). The original straight-six cylinder engine has been replaced in favor of a powerful Chevy-sourced 350ci V8 matched to its original Borg-Warner T90 3-speed manual transmission. This capable and utilitarian Jeep has been modified significantly to modernize mechanical components and give it a unique but classic look. This example was repainted in burnt orange and is complemented by a custom black and orange leather interior with matching floor mats and headliner. The custom center console houses a newer Kenwood stereo head unit. Additional upgrades include new glass and seals, a new dual exhaust, and a suspension lift to accommodate 35 Mickey Thompson tires. The truck is located in Long Island, NY.
A third-party inspection and detailed photos show a restored and modified Jeep that has been well cared for and is ready for its next enthusiast. The exterior shows the recency of work, and the paint, bed, and tires all appear in like-new condition. On the inside, minimal wear is evident only in the original two-spoke steering wheel and missing rearview mirror. The leather, carpets, and headliner are all in new condition and free of stains or wear that might be expected on an older vehicle. A video from the inspection demonstrates the smooth-running V8 and there was nothing irregular noted about the mechanical performance of the Jeep. Included with the sale are two keys and owner receipts and notes throughout the restoration.
