After all, back in the day, it may have been brand-new, but mileage usually went out the window and tune-ups and maintenance were part of the routine. There is nothing wrong with any of that, of course, but advances since 1971 make some of this much easier today. This car, having received a rotisserie restoration, was further upgraded in nearly every area, creating a droptop ride that was only a fantasy when it first rolled off the assembly line.Yes, it has a Hemi, a new 392 CI HEMI V-8 crate engine. Attention to detail includes the old-school oval air cleaner with a blue-checkered 392 decal, MSD coil packs, Holley Terminator X fuel management, Hemi Orange engine paint and nicely subdued detailing. On the firewall, one sees the reservoir for the hydraulic clutch, which in turn works in conjunction with a Tremec TKX 5-speed manual transmission featuring shifter adaptations from American Powertrain. Backing this is a Moser 8 3/4 rear with Tru-Trac 3.23 limited slip. A Reilly Motorsports AlterKtion front suspension, Street Lynx rear suspension and Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes (6-piston front, 4-piston rear calipers) with 12-inch rotors finish off the underpinnings. The exterior is painted in a rich F8 Green with AAR-like strobe striping featuring a 392 HEMI icon at the end plus a blackout hood with HEMI 'Cuda callout tags. This was done in PPG paint (DBC base coat, DCU2021 clear coat) and is complimented with a black soft top and a full Legendary black leather upholstery. Inside is a two-spoke sport wheel, Pistol Grip shifter, console-mount tachometer, aftermarket Sony audio with added rear speakers, restored gauges, and woodgrain console trim. Outside are sport mirrors, road lamps, valance exit exhaust tips, and aftermarket five-spoke wheels with modern-design tires.
