Work Done: The Cam and lifters were replaced shortly after buying. Since then its only been driven about 40k. It has been off the road now for about 7 years. No body work has been done on the car except the replacement of the back bumper. I have recently put on a new distributor cap, rotor, and replaced all the spark plugs.
The most recent repair was a replacement of the right Inner Tie Rod a few years ago.
History: Owners have been on Vancouver Island. There is very little snowfall in this part of Canada. So this is why the car has stayed in good condition for 40 years. The noticeable rust is mainly on the surface of doors and at the bottom of the seams of the doors. It has a solid frame. When I bought the car about 18 years ago and it only had 144k. I am the third owner.
Repairs to consider in restoration:
The car starts, runs and drives, but needs a new or rebuilt carburetor.
Valve cover gasket needs replacement(some oil is leaking on the block)
Exhaust system needs done, and a convertor installed(if warranted)
The Naugahyde (the soft area at top exterior of car)is worn and cracked.
The power window on passenger side is not working well, but still functioning.
The headliner(roof of interior)needs replaced.
The wiper fluid pump is not functioning.
There is a crack on one of the tail lights.
The gas gauge is not functioning.
The front tires need replaced.
There are the typical cosmetic items needing attention, such as rubber seals around windows and the trim.
Two Chrome Lower Rocker panels have come off but I still have them.
The original radio has been replaced.
