re: * & **
A few comments:
These Mitsubishi Delica L400 SpaceGear models are difficult to acquire; especially, one such as this very fine example.
As they are NOT sold through established Mitsubishi dealer networks.  There is a "work-around".   There are a couple choices: they occasionally show-up on the online auctions (such as eBay, etc.) ... they are sometimes found as used cars in Canada (where they were imported for a while) ... OR (as we have done), going through an importer.
Importers generally just arrange through their connections, to receive a used vehicle from a foreign country (Japan) at a port.  Pretty much "AS IS".   The vehicles have to be 25-years old (or, older), to meet the strict U.S. Import laws.
The "tricky part" is navigating the plethora of bureaucratic paperwork necessary to get the vehicle road-worthy, and legally registered here in the U.S.A.
We did all that.   No easy feat; trust me.  It took SEVEN (7) months !  (Our State of Virginia might have more levels of bureaucracy than your State.)   All the paperwork was in Japanese.  Required several trips to Virginia DMV Main Office in Richmond.   NO satellite  branch offices would process the paperwork to obtain a title.  Required a new set of Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Customs Dept documents with specific stamps (from the Port of Los Angeles, in this case).
The good news:  all that is done.
We have clear title in-hand.   This  Mitsubishi has current State (Virginia) Inspection, title and registration, which is transferrable.   State Inspection valid until end of May, 2025.   Is legal for travel to all U.S. States.

The model name, "Chamonix", is significant.  This is the "top of the line" (model).   Chamonix is a prestigious ski resort in France, at the foot of Mont Blanc.  Mitsubishi wanted to use the famous ski-resort connection to reflect the special modifications implemented on this Delica SpaceGear.   It was specially outfitted with a great deal of (hidden) insulation, for increasing the "R-value" inside, during very cold weather.  Is another reason for not having a sunroof, or upper "surround" windows overhead ... which all leak air, and inhibit warmth inside while car-camping.   Which is one of the reasons why we choose this vehicle in the first place.   We are outdoors people.   We travel, camp, hike, kayak, surf, etc.  This Mitsubishi has provided many thousands of trouble-free miles of travel all across the U.S.A.  Plus - it is a great "daily-driver" for around town driving, running errands, hauling stuff to the County landfill, etc. ... even though we have three other vehicles.  It is surprisingly "peppy" ... turnpike and Interstate on-ramps acceleration is a breeze (thanks to that turbo).

Now, we are reluctantly selling ... into our 3rd year of ownership, and having driven across the USA, and throughout most of the States East of the Mississippi, with ZERO issues,    Why?  My partner/girlfriend simply does not like driving a Right Hand Drive vehicle.  She has put in much effort ... but, simply is not comfortable driving this Delica safely, especially city driving.
I (I'm the guy) have had a couple British Morgan +4's with Right Hand Drive.   I'm an "old pro", with many tens-of-thousands of miles driving a RHD vehicle.   Never a problem.

This Diesel Delica has delivered fuel-mileage anywhere from 18-mpg to around 28-mpg.   There are a few "tricks" to enable the best fuel-mileage.  Much has to do with mastering the "OverDrive" function.   Does take practice.   Using *special* fuels, and very specific diesel-fuel additive helps, but is not required ...  (old-pro diesel "home brew" tricks, "Mo-Jo" advice from experienced  truckers).

We had one very minor mishap.   Some fool rear-ended us in a parking lot.  Inattentive Driving (was looking at her cellphone).
The rear "bash-bar" (under the rear bumper) got "tweaked".   Photo-images shows this.  Also; the left-side rubber end-cap is missing.  A few scratches and paint abrasions in the bumper were repaired by an expert restoration specialist,

I used a number of the allowed photo-images in this listing to show the various configurations of the rear seats; mainly, in the full flat platform set-up, which allows two-people plenty of room for sleeping.  (necessary to remove headrests).  In normal seating arrangement, the Delica can seat seven people (eight, in a pinch, but one will not have seatbelt). The undercarriage  and suspension is amazingly clean.   Scant surface rust.  See pics.  Never driven in winter on salted roads (we have a Trooper and a Vehi-Cross for that).

The vehicle is used daily.   Is amazingly dependable / reliable.   Constantly being complimented and asked about, wherever we go.
Final mileage is projected to be around 81,000 miles  / (135,800 km)  at time of sale.
