The car runs but transmission needs replacement asap (noisy, slipping, not driveable).

Bought used, but vehicle has been a 1-owner truck for the last 22 yrs, but my kid needs something newer for college 4 hrs away.

Vehicle has NO wrecks and clean title but with 242,000 miles it burns a little oil and the exhaust catalysts are probably gone so the check engine light is on. I've found used transmissions on ebay for ~$700 with a 90d warranty so that plus labor to get it reliable again. figure $1500 if you're not doing the work yourself.

Overall this is an old school, simple and robust body-on-frame suv with towing receiver mounted, AWD with low-range transfer case and a matching set of michelin ltx tires and an interior that isnt torn to pieces.  

Once purchased and paid I can trailer it to your location for free within 20 miles of Lakeland, TN.
