This 1958 Dodge Coronet is the best of both worlds.  Lovingly maintained for nearly 70 years, with a 100% original drivetrain, undercarriage and near original interior, this Coronet is the very definition of a time capsule.  The original, unrestored odometer reflects a little over 30,000 miles and the car looks and drives like it.  You truly feel like it's 1958 when you drive this amazing car down the road.

Features include “Swept-Wing” tail fins, full-length side spears, a wrap-around windshield, a chrome front bumper with a grille guard, and dual exhaust outlets with turned-down outlets.

The Coronet received a high quality cosmetic repaint in 2012, in the original two-tone Silver & Charcoal Gray.  All of the chrome & trim are restored and in excellent condition.  All glass is original to the car and like new, with all proper stamps and codes.  Anyone who has ever restored a car understands the momentum cost involved in restoring Chryslers from this era ... the parts are either insanely expensive or non-existent.  No one in their right mind would attempt a restoration to this level on a four door car from this era, so if you don't have a low mile original to begin with, it won't happen.

White-painted 14? steel wheels wear polished covers with black accents and are mounted with 225/75 Coker Classic whitewall tires. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering and braking, the latter of which is provided by four-wheel drums. A brake flush was reportedly performed in preparation for the sale.

The interior features two rows of bench seats upholstered in gray cloth with white vinyl accents and are joined by two-tone door panels with silver trim. Appointments include a heater/defroster, a dashboard-mounted day/night rearview mirror, a locking glove box, and a push-button AM radio. Front lap belts have been added for safety.

This Coronet sports what has to be the nicest original surviving 1958 dash, steering wheel and instrument cluster on the planet, evidence that it has spent its entire life indoors.  There is no UV damage to any part of the highly original interior.  The steering wheel is free from cracks and all gauges operate perfectly, including the speedometer.  The two-tone steering wheel fronts a horizontal 120-mph speedometer that sits above a row of chrome-bezel gauges for amperage, fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. Push-button transmission controls are located to the left of the instruments.

The 325ci Red Ram V8 is equipped with polyspherical cylinder heads, a two-barrel downdraft carburetor, and a dual exhaust system with replacement mufflers and tailpipes. Service in preparation for the sale reportedly included re-coring the radiator, flushing the coolant, replacing the heat riser flap gaskets, and changing the oil.  The engine starts with a turn of the key and runs flawlessly. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

The undercarriage is original and appears to be an original factory under-coated car.  The trunk is pristine.  There is no evidence of rust repairs or collision damage anywhere to be found.

If you're looking for a no-excuses car that can will win any local car show while bringing a smile to anyone's face, this is your car.

Manufacturer’s literature is included in the sale along with service records, spare water and fuel pumps, a replacement ignition switch with keys, reproduction floor mats, and a car cover.

Please do not bid on this car unless you fully expect to purchase it after the close of the auction.
