Launched in 1969 and first available in the United States from 1970, the Datsun 240Z was the sporty image leader from Japan's Nissan Corporation. From the start, it completely revolutionized the sports-car world with its performance, comfort, reliability, and surprising affordability. Featuring sleek bodylines strongly reminiscent of Jaguar's E-Type, the 240Z was a revelation to drive with its SOHC inline six-cylinder engine, independent suspension, comfortable interior, and breathtaking 125-mph top speed. Developed through larger displacement 260Z and 280Z iterations, the first-generation cars were built through 1978, followed by the 1979-83 280ZX. Predictably, Z-Cars, as they are affectionately known, carried the Datsun/Nissan banner with great success in SCCA and IMSA competition.

Offered in exceptionally original condition with just one repaint in factory-specified Brown Metallic, this 1973 Datsun 240Z is a thrilling collector find. Formerly part of a private collection, this 240Z benefits from Ziebart rust protection when new and retains the matching numbers, twin-carbureted 2.4L inline 6-cylinder engine, paired to a 4-speed manual transmission. Other choice highlights included power-assisted front disc brakes, an under hood light, the original tinted glass (with the exception of the replacement windshield), a Hitachi AM/FM radio, original mag-style hub caps, new tires, and the original and unused spare tire. An accompanying document folder includes the original sales order, warranty booklet, and owner's manual. Terms:

Bidders with less than 5 feedbacks must contact us prior to bidding. If you do not contact us, we reserve the right to cancel your bid without notice. Please do not ask our reserve price, simply bid what you are comfortable with.

Your winning bid is a contract to purchase the vehicle, not a "come, look, and negotiate." This is a serious auction for serious buyers only. Please ask all relevant questions prior to bidding. All vehicles are sold as-is. By placing a bid, you are agreeing to these terms of sale.

Winning bidder must communicate with Seller by phone within 24 hours of the end of auction to make arrangements to complete transaction. If no contact is made, we reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next highest bidder, or sell it otherwise.

Mileage:

Vintage cars in excess of 10 years of age, in most US states, mileage may be recorded as “exempt”. The Last Detail makes no warranties as to the accuracy of the mileage indicated or shown and accepts no responsibility for any discrepancy with independent reports such as CarFax, Autocheck, etc. Unless the vehicle is advertised as an original mileage car, do not assume that the mileage/odometer reading is the actual mileage. It is simply what the odometer is reading at the time pictures are taken. MILEAGE IS NOT ACTUAL UNLESS STATED SO IN THE DESCRIPTION! Vehicles are test driven and mileage may vary at time of sale.

Payments/Fees/Taxes:

A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required within 48 hours of close of auction. Full payment is required within 7 business days of the close of auction unless otherwise agreed in writing. Vehicles and titles will not be released without cleared funds and signed documents. Wire transfers or cashier’s checks are preferred. Any other payment methods MUST be pre-approved.

Purchase price does not include: State Tax, Documentation Fee, Title & Registration, Transport and Drive Away Plate Fees.

Shipping/Transport:

We will assist with shipping both nationally and globally, however, the buyer is responsible for all shipping costs. We can help arrange shipping anywhere in the world.
