Martini, shaken not stirred.
This uber cool roadster has Thunderball written all over it!
Not an Asten Martin, but so close in appearance ...
This car was my grandfather's from new off the lot.
While extremely cool ... this is a project car. Needs body work and interior TLC.
I have focused on getting the engine going. The following work has been done:
- Remove & Replace fuel tank
- Powdercoat fuel tank
- New fuel filter
- Flush fuel lines
- Remove and rebuild the twin carburetors
- Sync carburetors
- New fuel pump
- New thermostat
- New thermostat gasket
- New thermostat housing
- New thermostat top plate and bolts
- New valve cover gasket
- New battery
- Remove and rebuild starter
- Tuneup (Cap, Rotor, Plugs)
- Remove & Replace cylinder head
- New cylinder head gasket
- New radiator cap
- Set ignition timing
- Repair brake bleeders and bleed brakes
- New front brake caliper
- Weld support plate beneath brake fluid reservoir and re-attach reservoir
- Improve support plate at clutch pedal (it was in danger of pressing right through the floor)
Our focus has been getting this car road ready. It is titled and insured. I have driven it and it is a hoot! You feel so much like you should be wearing a tux. If only driving with a martini in your hand was still legal, Ha Ha Ha ...
I repeat ... This is a project car. The body and interior needs as much care as the mechanics. But anyone can do that. I had to get 2 different specialists to get it on the road again. That was the work that not everyone can do.
