The 1950 Chrysler Windsor is a gleaming testament to post-war American optimism and engineering. Ford and Chevy dominated but Chrysler was always at their heels with a car that was as good or better, in fact, the 1953 Windsor won Car of the Year. Chrysler emerged as a symbol of newfound prosperity and technological advancement. The 1950 Windsor was one of the first cars to feature Chrysler's pioneering  "Fluid Drive" semi-automatic transmission, marrying comfort and innovation. Once underway there is no need to shift. PERFORMANCE AND HANDLING 

This Windsor is powered by a robust inline-six engine that delivers smooth performance. The engine and transmission have had a complete rebuild, top to bottom inside and out. This is a get-in-and-go, drive-anywhere automobile. On the road, it handles with ease thanks to its new shocks, new tires, and new brakes. The exhaust is also new.

When opening the hood find a spotless engine and engine compartment. Everything is in place, nothing is missing, It looks original right down to the air cleaner. Even the heater box looks like new. The radiator has been replaced and is new. You can show with pride. 

 

INTERIOR

The interior is tidy. The seats, carpet, and door panels have been redone. Keep in mind this is not a restored car, except for the mechanical end.  There is plenty of room for six adults to ride in comfort. All of the gauges work, including the gas gauge. The original owners manual along with the shop manual are with the car. The heater and all controls work as intended. 

 

EXTERIOR 

The exterior is bright, shiny, and a real attention-getter. Plenty of comments, cameras, and action around the car wherever it travels. It sports a beautiful burnished patina finish that draws questions and favorable comments. The hood is accented with an ever-widening red stripe starting at its proud hood ornament to the center vent.  No attempt was made to restore the exterior. Nothing was done to hide or cover up its bumps and bruises. It shows very well just the way it is. ‘Character vehicles’ is now the new norm and where it’s at.
