Vehicle Details
1957 Chevrolet 210 Two-Door Sedan, same owner since 1996, bought it in 1996 almost exactly as it sits today, the black fenders were already on it and just left it that way and drove it like that. Has a nice sounding small block Chevy that the last owner said is a non-numbers matching but period correct 283, it does have the single hump "Power Pak" cylinder heads on it that I can see. Has a Thermoqaud 4-barrel carburetor sounds great when you get those big secondaries open. It has a tight 3 speed manual stick shift on the floor, spring loaded when you come up out of first, it’s always in perfect position between 2nd and 3rd. Interior looks very nice, both doors lock and unlock with a key. Double bench seats are in great shape, front seat slides forward and back nicely, two seatbelts in the front and two seatbelts in the rear. The windshield wipers, the headlights, taillights, brake lights, license plate light and turn signals and the horn are working, the emergency parking brake works very well also. I can see the high beam indicator illuminate red on/off when I push the foot switch to bright/dim headlights, and I can see both turn signal indicators on the dash working when I turn them on. Has a newer style Alternator instead of the old-style generator, it is still connected to the dash generator light so warning light turns on when key is turned to On, and goes away when started. All the glass looks good, I don't see any chips or cracks, very slight delam on a couple of the window edges. The factory AM radio, factory clock, dome light, cigarette lighter and the gas gauge are not working. A working oil pressure and temperature gauge are mounted under the dash next to an AM/FM/CD player, which has an amplifier mounted in the trunk. The front and back windows roll up and down nicely and the wing windows crank open with handles nicely also, all the heater controls slide nicely, and the heater blows lots of hot air. There is sound deadener installed under the carpet but not glued in, so inspection of floor pans is still available, headliner isn't sagging but starting to look old to me. There was a little rust in the trunk underneath the rubber mat on the driver's side, to the left of the upper 3 big X's stamped into the metal trunk pan, I put rust inhibitor on it and painted over it with Chevy orange. The trunk was the only area I touched up, Undercarriage looks like only surface rust to me, but I took lots of pictures of the underneath front to back both sides, call for more pictures. A metal bar was made and bolted into place between the frame rails that the top of the rear shocks are mounted to, old owner said he doesn't like the way Chevrolet mounted the top of the shocks to the trunk pan and did it so the shocks wouldn't bend up the trunk pan up over time. Corvette Rally wheels, beauty rings, center caps and knockoffs. The original Armstrong steering means no power steering leaks to worry about, but it does leave some drops of oil where I park. 4-wheel drum brakes were just bled and seem to stop fairly straight when applied. The VIN says it was born in Oakland, California with a straight 6 and three on the tree. The Cowl trim tag says 822C for paint, which was Dusk pearl on the bottom and Imperial Ivory on the top. Looks, Runs, Drives and sounds pretty nice and has a Clean Oregon title. Starts great cold, four accelerator pumps and choke closes, hit the key then idles high when started until gas pedal is tapped, starts great hot also. I have driven this car about 75 miles getting it ready to sell, 30 psi of oil pressure at idle and I've sat and idle for a long time, and I haven't had any problems with it getting hot or overheating. I have about 30 more pictures of the underneath and some walk around and driving videos also, call or text 503-801-8184 for them. Tires all look good but are old, I reserve the right to end the auction early for any reason.
