What an amazing 1956 Thunderbird you are bidding on. This car has all the right features and look. The body is in beautiful condition. It is straight and clean. The paint is smooth with a gorgeous shine to it. The chrome and trim are all in really nice condition as well and show well. The wire wheels and white wall tires finish off the look perfectly. The interior was restored at the same time as the body and shows very little wear. The seat and carpet look great. The door panels are decent too. The convertible top is in great condition and it also has the factory hardtop which is included in the sale, just not pictured. Now when you have a 56 T-Bird, you want to show it off and there is no better way to do this than by driving it. Let me tell you, that is where this car shines as well. Not only does it look great, but it drives incredibly well. When I took it down the street for its photo shoot I just wanted to keep going until I got to the beach and then cruise up and down the Jersey Shore. This car drives AWESOME! The fun factor is increased by its 3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Only 10% of the Thunderbirds were delivered with manual transmissions, even less with the OD. That makes this a rare bird. The 312 engine starts up instantly and runs super smooth. It has very good power with no hiccups or lag under throttle. The clutch felt good and the shifter slid into gear easy. The overdrive pulls out and engages without issues. It rides down the road excellent with no weird noises or pulling. The steering is effortless and the brakes stop perfectly. The suspension rides so nice; you think you were in a Lincoln. It truly is a car you can drive the weekend away in.
