The "M" code high performance engine was an available option on 1962 and 1963 Thunderbirds. It could be ordered on any style Thunderbird - hardtop, landau, convertible or sports roadster. A reference book on Thunderbird's indicates that just 26 hardtops were equipped with the high performance engine and that a total of only 167 "M" codes were produced in all body styles out of a model year production of 78,011 units. The fifth digit of the serial number in all Fords of this era indicates the motor code (in this case "M") so identification of a true "M" code is easy. This car is further authenticated by its original build sheet. The oval air cleaner on these cars is unique as well, having a Thunderbird emblem displayed on top. This particular car was one family owned for the first 46 years. It's in excellent running condition and it's an outstanding unrestored example.Note: Title states odometer exempt because of age
