The Mercedes-Benz SL name has always represented a high level of style and sophistication. It was no different back in 1972, when the R107 SL model was introduced. This model family existed with minimal changes until 1989, speaking volumes about the quality of design and engineering that went into the car.
This 1977 450 SL V8 is a fine example of the breed. It is in excellent condition, looking much as it did when it was new. Even better, it runs and drives like a dream - it's melted-butter smooth and very solid, just like a Mercedes-Benz is supposed to be. It is a true joy to drive, actually riding a lot better than many new cars - absolutely amazing.
Outside, the car is just stunning to look at. The bright red paint shines like new, and there are no dents, dings, scratches or rust visible anywhere on the body. The chrome all shines brilliantly. The top is in like new condition with no holes, tears or stains - and the rear window is clear. The hard top is with the car, and it it also excellent.
The interior is equally impressive. No holes, no tears, no wear of any kind on the seats or door panels. It is very, very clean, and there are no odors.
This is a one owner car from Palm Beach, Florida. It has obviously been very well cared for (as it should be). It has just 46,089 original miles on it.
