Click above arrow for video of 1952 Chevy 1/2 ton 5 window truck!
I have owned this truck for over 20 years in my collection with the intent of restoring it. I finally got to it this spring and found that the original 216 engine was junk. I put in a 235 6 cyl and rebuilt the carb. I redid the brakes by rebuilding the master cylinder and rear brake cylinders, and rear brake hoses. I did a complete tune up, points plugs coil condesor etc. I put a new fuel pump on and clean out the gas tank. I put a new exhaust system on. I bypassed the original ignition switch and wire harness as it is still the original cloth harness. Before bypassing it and leaving it a 6 volt system, I checked the headlights, guages, etc and they all worked. I put a 12 volt coil on with a new ignition switch and a 12 volt battetry with the intent of converting the truck over to a 12 volt system but that is as far as I got. If you want to convert it back to 6 volt, just hook up the original ignition switch I have tucked under the dash, add a 6 volt coil, and a 6 volt battery.
I have been running it all summer on many short trips during daylight hours and it starts right up everytime. As the video shows, it drives 50 to 60 miles per a hour with no play and shifts smooth. The truck stops and goes into reverse and backs up fine. The clutch works the way it should. All of the glass is good (I replaced what glass was originally cracked with new.) The windows go up and down with ease and the doors and hood shut the way they should.
Cosmetically this truck shows really GREAT. I had it repainted and I will give the paint code to the new buyer. I pictured and videoed any cosmetic blemish I saw. Be sure to look at the video and pictures. In my opinion, the paint looks very sharp and turns lots of heads.I have used it in a few parades with lots of thumbs up!
This is a RARE find in that it is a 5 window, shortbox 1/2 ton, and that it can be used as a daily driver while taking it to the next level if the buyer wishes. The only thing I was going to finish on the truck was new sunvisors, redo the front brakes, and a headliner and the complete 12 volt conversion and reupholster the seat ( it only has a seat cover on it right now) The truck idles beautifuly and the 235 6 cyl enigne has no knocks, misses or smoke. The lisence plate and toppers do not go with the sale of the truck. This truck comes with a clean and clear title ,with the numbers matching ready to register.
I invite and encourage you to come and inspect the truck before placing a bid as you will be pleasantly surprised on how well this truck shows and drives. If you cant make it personally ,I invite you to have ebay do a inspection for you. I require a 500 non refundable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not get the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, I will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable. If you have any questions, please call 563-568-5111, 563 568 1182, 563 568 1186 . thanks and have fun bidding on this unique and hard to find shortbox chevy 1/2 ton pick up!
