One of a kind Subaru Impreza: 2003 WRX Turbo 2.0L Sedan w/Spoiler AWD, TurboXS, Panasonic DVD, Navi., JL AUDIO Amp’s, Bazooka NOS Subwoofer, Boston Acoustics, Viper Remote Start Alarm, Rally Amour, Bug-Eye’s
Up for sale is My (I mean) My Wife’s 2003 Platinum Silver Metallic Subaru Impreza WRX Sedan w/Black & Bluish Gray interior. We are the second owner of the car and love it. I have been a car enthusiast (gear-head) my whole life, but now in our 50’s we’re finally ready to give up the stick-shift. :^( But don’t worry we now have a Red Subaru Impreza WRX Hatchback Automatic instead. Anyway enough about that, let’s get back to the car for sale. What can I say other than we loved it and the fact that the first owner may have been as much if not more of an enthusiast then me. He had worked at a car audio and accessory store and did most of the upgrades himself which is what lead me into purchasing the car.
So here is some of the info, facts, upgrades, repairs and documents of the car we are offering in no particular order so bear with me and feel free to ask any ?’s you may have. The car when we got it had 92k on it and had all major maintenance done on it like water pump, timing belt, clutch etc. The upgrades he did were numerous so I’ll start with them and try to work front to back of the car. Out front which is hardly noticeable is an Escort Passport SR7 Radar Laser Detector & Jammer hidden in the lower grill and on the rear license plate and the display unit is on the steering column/gauge panel which was upwards of a Grand installed.
Next up would be the alarm and remote start system which is the Viper 791XV Auto Security System & Remote Start w/2 Way Feedback. It is a user-friendly 2-Way Remote with the Ultimate 2-Way Security and Remote Start. Viper 791XV includes the XHF Super 2-Way Dipole Antenna with about a 1/4 mile range It was $500 w/o installation.
Panasonic-CQ-VD6503U In-dash 6.5-inch DVD Player, iPod ready w/adaptor included (iPod not included), Sirius/XM satellite radio ready w/adapter (subscription required), Bluetooth hands-free cell phone ready adaptor required, TV Tuner ready, Camera input ready & Navigation upgradable etc. which was another Grand installed. Boston Acoustics 2 way speakers, p/n 11-556-0, Boston Acoustics electronic cross overs at least $250. A Kenwood KTC-SR902 SIRIUS Tuner Satellite Radio for Your Car. The KTC-SR902 SIRIUS tuner is a compatible receiver for 100 streams of innovative programming, including news, sports, entertainment, and 60 streams of commercial-free music! At a cost of $150 w/o installation. JL Audio Slash v2 Series 300/2v2, 2-channel car amplifier, 150 watts RMS x 2, JL Audio Slash v2 Series 500/1v2, Mono subwoofer amplifier, 500 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms, over a Grand for the pair w/o installation. And last but not least, the Bazooka NOS (nitrous-oxide) Subwoofer which I know the cost to be $170 because I purchased it because he took out his Sub. And trunk, doors and floors were treated with Xtreme Dynamat for sound proofing!
So we have 7 Speaker, 5.1 Surround Sound, Multi-Media, Stereo System installed for something like 3 Grand.
Now we have the exhaust which it is a Stromung Exhaust System. Starting out with the Stromung Catless Shorty Downpipe 2002-2007 WRX part #SW1000-3, $170, Stromung 2.5" Intermediate Pipe WRX part #SW500X, $170, Stromung 02-06 WRX rear muffler single tip part #SW801X, $440. For an $800 exhaust system.
The engine stuff, which is basically stock, I used a K&N A/F but have a new paper filter installed and will include the K&N. The previous owner had a TurboXS UTEC (User-friendly Tunable Engine Computer) engine management controller system installed which simply means you can dial in the HP yourself. But he removed it prior to selling it because it is intimating for some folk. I never got around to installing it myself as my wife was the primary driver, but it will be included although the car is PLENTY FAST enough as is. And at last another Grand w/o installation.
Here are some of the HP Specs;
Stock WRX HP: 168.0 hp @ 5733 rpm @ 12.1 psi,
Stock ECU/ K&N A/F/Stromung Exhaust System HP: 194.4 hp @ 5593 rpm @ 12.6 psi,
Where the car is now.
UTEC Stage 2 Kit approx.. 309 HP
UTEC Stage 2 Max Wheel HP: 227.8 hp @ 5593 rpm @ 15.1 psi + 59.4 WHP or a 36% increase in wheel HP!
Where the car can be w/the TurboXS!
So with the K&N Air/Filter, Stromung’s Exhaust System and adding the TurboXS UTEC engine management system you can have as much HP you want up too 310hp w/o adding anything else.
An OEM Factory, STI 2003 Subaru WRX 5MT Shifter, SPT Short Throw Shifter. For $250 w/o installation.

The car runs flawlessly and if you have done any research on these cars you’ll know that they’re still selling well into their 300,000mi., so one could safely say that this car is only at half its life or better. This car as you can see has been well taken care of by the first and second owners, I have all the service records and will include them. I personally have taken care of the maintenance and repairs myself, as I have been a mechanic for 35yrs. You may have seen so far in this description already that this car has all the bells and whistles. I have been keeping a rough tally of cost of the options and upgrades, not counting things such as maintenance and repairs. Like the $750+ in NAPA brake parts less than a year ago or the $587 in Goodyear tires less than two years old, because maintenance is a part of owning a car but options, upgrades and accessories are not, they are the things most people want the most and many people will pay more for them. That said, I have come to a very conservative estimation of those cost. The previous owner had a combined total of $6200 in options, and I had myself at a combined total of $675 in upgrades, for a grand total of $6875. That number is more than the asking number of the car itself if you get where I’m going!? LOL
I am no Stereo/Audio Guru Guy but I’m sure there is more to what’s there in that system than I am aware of, like fuses, capacitors, wiring and stuff I did the best I could to describe that area. But believe me, I can tell you that the stereo Rocks! I am sure of all the other areas of the car I have described are spot-on. I can say before people start asking that yes the DVD player does play while driving, and yes the remote start does work w/the stick shift. The A/C is “Ice Cold” and heater is “Hot” too. Everything works as it should lights, signals, cruise etc. It has some small chips and dings typical with normal age and wear and tear of a car this age.
So in conclusion I can tell you that you will not be disappointed in this little Rally Sport car!
Be sure to check out the other 115 pic’s in the link Here.
