Full 12V conversion and tons of brass make this a very stylish 100 year old T! New top and ready for touring!
Ford Model T production began in 1908 in limited numbers at Ford’s Piquette plant. They only managed to build 11 cars in the whole first month of production. By 1913, the assembly line was in full swing and had drastically sped up the process, with Ford able to build a Model T in only 93 minutes. With cars coming off the line in 3 minute intervals, the economy of scale was altered so that a Model T only cost $240 to own. As a result, over 15,000,000 of them were built before production stopped in late May of 1927.
We are very excited to offer this 1914 Ford Model T Roadster! It is finished in an attractive shade of Royal Blue with black fenders and a black vinyl interior and brand new black Stayfast top! The car is powered by an August 15, 1913 date-coded 177ci Inline 4 mated to a planetary gearbox. It is likely that this is original equipment to the car. The car is fitted with many notable options including E & J “Ford Model 66” brass headlamps, brass winged motometer, acetylene canister, tool box, dual brass cowl lights, single brass rear light (E & J Model 12), brass license plate bracket, brass horn, brass rearview mirror, leather crank holder, brass step plate and rubber “Ford” floor mat. The car maintains its original wooden wheels (painted to match the body) wrapped in Firestone non-skid blackwall tires.
This T is surviving most recently out of California and wears an older restoration. The paint and chrome don’t appear brand new but they do polish to an excellent shine! This 100 year old T runs and drives great, thanks in part to a distributor & coil with electric starter and ignition key. The car is now running full 12V charging with a battery in the trunk; the car’s drivability has been enhanced ten fold as a result! Interestingly enough, the car wears a medallion on the dash that claims to have been registered in the state of Illinois in 1917! We are confident that this T will make for very cool, reliable transportation for the next owner! Please don’t hesitate to ask any additional questions on this centenarian! Thanks for looking!
