Luca Cordero di Montezemolo’ s Personalized 2009 Ferrari 430 Scuderia The Ferrari 430 Scuderia continues to enthrall owners with its handling, prowess, and historical significance in the history of Ferrari road cars. This example is the pinnacle of this achievement; chassis # 170213 is the Scuderia personally designed by Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo to commemorate an era and a way of life at Ferrari. Not only is this the last 430 Scuderia Ferrari made, it is the last car to come off the old production line, signaling the end of an era in Maranello as they moved production to the current modernized and 70% automated 2 story production facility. No expense was spared to build this “one-of” creation, making it unique while maintaining the Ferrari DNA of speed and grace. Every detail, option, and design cue was fused to create this car as not only a piece of moving art but a significant piece of Ferrari history which will never be duplicated. Under the bonnet memorializing Italian craftsmanship is the signatures of each technician who assisted in building this car. Exterior paint is exceptional in Rosso Formula One with the Tri-Colore stripe. While it is difficult to see the depth in photographs, the soft metallic paint sets off the car when viewed in person to be like no other Rosso in Ferrari’s paint offerings. The rims were chosen to set the car apart from other Scuderia’s and was not offered as an option at the time of production. However as is the case when Ferrari creates a special one-off car, rules were over ruled by Mr. Montezemolo himself to differentiate this special car from other Scuderia’s. The interior is finished in plush Charcoal Alcantara with subtle but striking Bordeaux stitching to match the rich Rosso infused carbon fiber trim pieces. Another understated and overlooked feature is the never-used Scuderia Ferrari shield embroidered on each headrest in bordeaux. A full carbon fiber interior comprises inner door panels, racing seats, air vents, center stack, center column, door sills, and F-1 paddles finished in Rosso infused resin to make the cabin unmistakably unique and one-of-a-kind. The steering wheel plate, instrument cluster, and outer door sills are in standard carbon fiber to blend in with their surroundings perfectly and tastefully. The exterior rocker panels, while an available option on all Scuderia’s are bespoke with the upper half painted in body color and lower half exposed carbon fiber, blending the two surfaces. To crown this achievement and celebrate this piece of Ferrari history, Mr. Montezemolo authorized the use of his signature on the dedication plate which is mounted above the center stack. The history of Ferrari is rich and is celebrating 60 years in North America.
